Need a suggestion for Epcot restaurants

We have a day at Ak then back to resort to play in the pool at WL. So we are trying to decide on dinner for the evening. We wanted to go to Epcot and do LeCellier but that restaurant is hard to get into and we can't get anything later than 4pm. While I love LeCellier I don't want to change our plans for this. So I need another suggestion for an Epcot restraurant that we can try. We wanted to tour the countries that evening so I guess anywhere in Epcot would be fine.

We are group of 8. 4 Adults and 4 Disney Girls 8,7,5 & 3. We are already doing: 1900 park fare, Norway Princess, Mama Melorose and Chef Mickeys.

Whispering Canyon looks too stressful. IS it really that rowdy. My two nieces would spend the whole meal in terror that the waiters would pick on them, so that is out. Which is ashame since we will be at the resort.

Also, do you think it is too much to go over to Ohana for a dinner and then go into Epcot? What do you think about that plan.

Otherwise what do you suggest in Epcot!

Thanks for any advice!

I can't remember the exact name of the restaurant, but Japan has a hibachi type restaurant where they cook in front of you. The chefs do cool tricks, but they don't pick on you to do anything. You just sit back and watch. The food is very good too! The San Angel table service restaurant in Epcot is also pretty unique. They set it up so it feel like you are eating right below the volcano. The ambiance is cool and fun, the food is good but not great. Hope that helps!

That's Teppanyaki - we thought it was okay, but like our local hibachi grill better - it IS entertaining, though. If you don't mind walking a little further, I'd recommend Garden Grill - one of our absolute favorites!

Biergarten in Germany is loads of fun, and being that you are a party of 8 you would get a table to yourselves. The music is entertaining and lively, and the buffet would have something for everyone. My kids loooved Biergarten when they were young, and still request to go back.

If you are heading for EPCOT after Thanksgiving, you may find it hard to get dining at EPCOT, since the restaurants are being booked for Candlelight Processional Dinner Packages. If it's before Thanksgiving, it could be booked due to the Food & Wine Festival.

For EPCOT, I'd try for an ADR at the Rose & Crown. Have always had good food and service there.

I liked the WCC. I was honest and upfront when I checked in to please let the server know I was not interested in participating in any antics. Would like a table away from the main area. The server was extremely nice and very respectful of my wishes. She was very attentive in checking to see if I needed any drink refills or how the meal was, but kept me out of the antics being played at other tables. Also, there is a small seating area off the main dining room there that sometimes gets used. I would see if that area is open and ask to be seated over there. Much quieter.

Another option is the Cape May Cafe Buffet. It's over at the Beach Club.

Unless your nieces are particularly timid or overly sensitive children, Whispering Canyon won't hold any trauma for them. It is fun, but it isn't like going to Dick's, if you ever ate there. They aren't making fun of children...it is Disney! Most tables will have kids - and they cater to them. :)

The only restaurant I've been to in the World Showcase that I don't recommend is Alfredo's. San Angel Inn, Restaurant Marrakesh (belly dancer!!), Rose & Crown, and the one in Germany (forget the name) were all good. I like the first two better, but that's a matter of taste. :) I like Le Cellier, but wouldn't knock myself out to eat there. :) Dunno about China or Japan - I don't eat that food.

'Ohana I can take or leave, but if the girls like the characters, that'll be just dandy!

Trails End over at Ft. Wilderness is yummy and cheap (well, cheap by Disney standards!)

Have a great trip and come back and give us a quick report on what you thought about the restaurants!! :)

Given the ages of your girls O'Hana would be a lot of fun. My daughter is 10 and loves that place. Hoola lessons, coconut races and other fun games for the kids. Even my 12 year old son has fun. Its an easy monorail ride away from Epcot or an easy car ride if you drive and park at the Poly. If you decide to eat at Epcot, my kids love San Angel and Coral Reef. Both have fun atmospheres for kids, with Coral Reef being in an aquarium (if you have any Full House fans, they'll love this place since this is where the dad proposed to his girlfriend on the WDW episode) and San Angel being a riverside place with a view of a volcano, complete with a hidden Mickey in the smoke. Price wise O'Hana would be the cheapest since its an all inclusive buffet.

My personal suggestion would be the San Angel Inn at Mexico. Excellent food and service, in my humble opinion.

Enjoy.
