Great, I only had to skim 25 pages to find out WHY on earth this 2006 thread has been revived. The person who posted in 2006 might not feel my 2007 answer is very relevant!

Yes -- there is a new promo that allows a discount *and* developers points if a referral is given. That's why this thread was resurrected by the mods.
