Need a referral for the current promotion?

Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions, I am going to give it another try after the weekend.

I fully understand that the incentive offer that I got whilst on vacation expired after the 72hr window. Since then I have been made aware of the friends & family offer and several members have given me their names as referrals. Personally I don't see the connection between the original incentive that I was offered in Florida and the current friends & family promotion, the only thing that I can see as an issue is that I didn't provide a referral name whilst in Florida.

Even though you didn't provide a name initially there have been people who have given a name afterwards and still got to take advantage of the friends and family promotion so I guess depending on the guide they could choose to accept it after or not. If latter you could always threaten to cancel the deal and I bet they may change their tune. Regardless, good luck and if you end up calling my guide let me know how you make out.

There will be another discount after 1/20, but it will almost certainly be less than $15 per point. It will most likely be $8-10 per point. There are also rumors that the base price of points will be increasing soon so the net impact of waiting until after 1/20 could easily mean paying $8-10 more per point.

most likely the point cost will increase again this year. It usually goes up every year. Last year in went up I think in May or June. The pattern has been a few dollars more per year on the best deal available. Last years friends and family was $83.xx and this year we see $86. Next big deal might be a few more dollars, but you never know. If anyone needs a refferal before the Jan. 20th promotion dedline, you can PM me and I will be happy to help.

I just returned from Disney yesterday and we did the tour etc. for DVC. We put a deposit down since we were there and told them we would confirm by Wednesday and our guide (Aaron) said that was OK. We were quoted $101/point. So, let me see if I have this correct. If I call them back on Monday and give them the name of someone who is already a member, (I'm hoping that one of you out there would do that for me ), instead of $101, I would get $86/point ? Now the other incentive that Disney gave us at this time is 200 extra points effective right now as well as $2000 toward the down payment. So I guess that I wonder if I can use it all ?? Anyone know the answer ?

If you received a credit of $2000 toward your down payment on 200 points, then you're already getting a discount of $10 per point. The referral discount gives you a total of $15 off per point, so you would save an additional $5 each.

I'm in a very similar situation. I took the tour on Jan 7th and I have ten days to review the offer. I'd love to have a referral from someone. That discount would be more than welcome.

The person who is referred and is becoming the new DVC member gets $15.00 off the current rate for Saratoga Springs of $101. per point which brigs the point costs down to $86.00 per point. Good deal, better than waiting 6- 8 weeks to see if disney uses it's ROFR for the DVC - Resale sites.

You just need the name, city and state of the current DVC member as your referral.


In March the rates go up to $104 per point at Saratoga. No actual date in March has been confirmed, could be March 1 or sometime in March.

Animal Kingdom Lodge is the next DVC Club to be opened up!! No confirmation date on when they will start selling AKL. Our guy (Michael Johnson) said they are all waiting with great anticipation for the release date of AKL.

Saratoga Springs is almost full, and the next property to be released to DVC is Animal Kingdom Lodge. They will be taking over 1 of the exsisting Hotels at AKL and begin building new buildings to expand the DVC at AKL.
