Need a plan for FOP

I know this has been asked more times than anyone cares to admit, but we will be hitting AK tomorrow. Our
Plan is to be the there around 7:45 for 9:00 role drop. Do you think that is enough time and what can we expect before rope drop? I expect the United will wall us back to a closer spot to the ride

As long as you are near the turnstiles before 8, you should be good. Watch as you wait, as they usually don't have them all available, but will gradually start to use more as they get closer to the time they will let you in. Usually about 30 minutes before official opening time. So you can move up in line without cutting in front of others by switching to the nearly opened lines.

If you’re interested in an alternate strategy, we rode at closing time last June. Posted wait was 110 minutes, but the actual wait was 17 mins to the first preshow.

Another vote for closing time. We had an afternoon fast pass when we went last June but we did the opposite everyone went straight to Pandora we went the opposite direction and got a lot of rides done before the place got crowded. Maria wanted to ride FoP a 2nd time so after dinner we went back and got into line. The wait was listed on the App as 180 min, the sign said 120 min, it took 40+ minutes.

We have also done closing time. As long as you are in line before the park closes , you will ride.
Our wait times have been between 10 and 30 minutes on different trips.

Perfect!! Got here around 7:40. The three lines but I watched for the other lines to open and moved to be first in line. We were a walk on to FOP around 8:30. So we were on and off before the parked opened. We went to the River journey for a 10 minute wait and were off both rides by 9:10. Not to shabby! Definitely pays to keep a watch for the other turnstiles to open and be at the front. We “walked with purpose” and didn’t run. We ended up getting on a minute or two after the sprinters

FoP is an amazing ride.
Navi is a nice ride and worth a 10 minute wait.
