I am thinking of going 12/26 to 1/3. I know it is a busy time for Disney. We do plan on visiting Disney but plan to aviod Disney on New Years eve. Can anyone tell me a good place to stay that may have their own family type activity for New Years eve. Right now, I have in mind the Nick Hotel, a moderate Disney resort, or Royal pacific at Universal. I am renting a car, so I can stay anywhere.

I would stay in a hotel. I actualy like staying in a hotel. I had concerns on the 3 hotels I mentioned.

The Nick hotel- I would stay here, but isn't this like a water park/hotel? I was concerned that there wouldn't be much need in January for a waterpark type hotel. Plus how likely is this hotel to offer discounts during christmas. I would pay higher room rates if they did something fun at New Years eve at the hotel.

Any Disney hotel- I am considering staying on Disney property. But if I don't plan on visiting a park New Years ever, I don't think any of the hotels do anything special. Also, I don't think Disney would offer any discounts.

Royal Pacific-I love this hotel! The pool is allot of fun. I would bet that they have a pool party for new Years eve. My concern is paying full price for the room and ending up missing Disney once on Universal property.
