On our next Fla adventure, we will be doing SW/DC. I want a nice hotel near International Drive so we can just use the trolley for transportation. I prefer not to pay more than $150/night.It will only be for 2 nights (going to WDW and the Dolphin for 5 nights after DC), we're not renting a car, and a pool is important. It will be myself and DS 8, so I want a place where I'd feel safe also. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Take a look at this.... www.renaissancedolphins.com

This hotel can be found at the Discovery Cove website. It is one of their "preferred" hotels.Even though, I have never stayed there,I have heard it is really nice and is across the street from SW.

Hope this helps!!

The Renaissance is VERY nice....I stayed there a few months ago and was able to walk right over to Sea World (Discovery Cove might require a ride. It's a bit further).

It has a beautiful lobby and the fabulous Atlantis restaurant for fine dining. There is a HUGE buffet breakfast on Sunday mornings (which I did not try, but was astonished by, as it is set up in the enormous lobby and you can see it from the elevators).

I'm not sure what their current prices are, but it's a real treat to stay there.

Thanks for the replies.
I tried the Renaissance and the cheapest in April is $249 (AAA discount) a night. Anyone know how to get a good deal there?

We've stayed at the Renaissance across from SeaWorld on a govt emp discount.

It is a beautiful hotel. Great room service and poolside bar.

Not sure how to get other discounts at this hotel other than AAA.

There are many hotels in the $100-150 that are nice, check out Orbitz. They will list the 4* hotels by price too.

Good luck!

You might get the Ren. hotel thru priceline by bidding for a 4* in Universal area.

herc.

I recommend the Sierra Suites on Int. Drive. It is very nice, staff is very friendly. We had a suite with living area and full kitchen. The continental breakfast was very nice. Trans to Univ. Studios is available also. We booked for $69.00 per night. I just checked the rates and they are still around 70.00 per night.

Also the trolley office (to buy passes if needed) and a trolley stop are directly behind the hotel.

Enjoy your trip.
