I need a new stroller. I am sooooooooo ticked off. We have a Chicco Cortina, A BabyTrend Jogger and a Chicco Liteway (high end umbrella) and my daughter is only 2. She is about 3" to broad for the Cortina, literally she can't sit back she has to lean forward. She is about 6-8" taller than the seat of the Jogger and her head hits the canopy. The Chico Liteway is actually my favorite. It is perfect. Full Recline, Full Canopy, lightweight, great for traveling but it has only lasted us about 1 year and is literally dying a slow and nasty death. (Which is odd because we aren't big stroller users, my DD walks in stores/mall).

I feel like I don't want to spend anymore money on strollers but know that we will need one for our December WDW trip so I might as well pick it out now and get some use out of it/dirty it up so it doesn't get stolen at MK :sad2:

Any recommendations? She is just shy of 40"/40 lbs...so we are looking for 40lb+ strollers. She isn't fat or really even chubby. She is just way bigger than she should be. She fits into 4 & 5T.

The Maclarens go to 55 lbs, so you might look at one of those. Our last stroller was a Maclaren Volo, which is the basic stroller - no recline, but has a canopy and a small basket and it's super light weight. I know my best friend had a couple of Maclaren Triumphs and they did recline and were a little more padded than the Volo.

My oldest always had his own growth curve - we had a Combi for him when he was young and he fit in it fine, but he tended to drag his feet - not putting them on the foot-rest. It was a great stroller, though. I think it went to maybe 45 lbs, though, so I'd definitely look at the Macs if I were you.

Have you looked at the Kolkraft umbrella strollers? We had the pink Jeep stroller that reclines and we loved it. My 2 year old is only 37 inches and I thought she was super tall! However, my 7 year can ride in it (she doesn't, she just hopped in it once when I was pushing it) but her legs are crunched up. She's 49 inches though and 43lbs.

Oops, just read 35lb max weight! So, maybe not the best investment, but I know it held my DD without falling apart.

She is the size of my son. There are twins a year younger than he is that are also his same size. Their grandmom stopped using their stroller a couple of months ago since they can walk to the park with no problem.

I have a Joovi and my son can still fit in it comfortably. It has had 2 years of hard use so it no longer pushes effortlessly. I researched on Amazon and height becomes an issue after 40 inches. Your best bet is a jogging stroller. Be sure to check the weight of the stroller and read the reviews. Some are great for jogging, but annoying to try and steer in a mall or crowded theme park.

I don't want to bring my old stroller. I don't want to buy a new one for an almost 4yr old. I don't want to rent one. I need to get over my case of the "I don't wannas." :goodvibes

Yeah she is like 39 2/3" barefoot right now and 2 years 5 months. I'm really hoping that she slows down sometime soon. Please. Please. Please! We've gone through Newborn, 0-3, 6, 9, 12, 18, 24, 2T, 3T, 4T and now 5T in 29 months!!!!!!! ANd of course I find the DIsney clothes run a bit small. So i got her a few tshirts in 5T at Target last week and they are already pretty form fitting and won't fit her come December...unless....she slows down!!!!!!

But hey, she can go on the good rides :lmao:

I have a City Mini which i absolutely LOVE. I think its up to 50 pounds. Its very light, easy to push and folds so easy..and flat..lol My son who is just 2 is about 37 inches and 33 pounds and is very comfy in it!
i have been through a lot of stroller with 4 kids, this is my favorite by far!

Yeah, my middle child grew like a weed from age 3-6. Keeping her in clothes was Mission Impossible. The best luck I had was with Children's Place t-shirts. They don't shrink a full size like other brands I've tried. It was all about trying to find shirts that would fit her for at 2 months!

She's finally just about out of the Disney Princess stage. I'm thinking of buying her a sundress to wear at the park and a tiara. The Disney dresses at the retail stores are so small that she could no longer fit them by age 4.

Well, since you have a big and growing DD you probably want to look into a City Mini (50LB max) or Bob Revolution (80LB max).

Both of which can be found on Craigslist.

Will you use it at home much? If not, have you thought about renting?

It sounds like the Baby Jogger City Elite or Baby Jogger City Mini GT would be great, but they are really expensive.

I'm sorry. I can feel your frustration though I don't know it personally. My 2 year-old is compact, solid and stocky, so we got the regular city mini. 2 years ago I was able to push my 7 year-old in one. He's a little square, 33 pounds, 33 inches. :rotfl:

I had a giant DD too. She towered over most of the kids in her preschool class. She was well over 90% in both height and weight. We only used a stroller at Disney from the time she was 12 months, as she was a high energery kid that wanted to walk on her own, but we loved our Maclaren for Disney. It was really comfortable for her and she had no problems napping in it. DD is 6 now, and our Maclaren has survived 5 WDW trips and 2 DL trips.

Get a Maclaren Volo or Triumph.

We went with the Triumph b/c my DD (3 at the time) fit better in it than the Volo. We went to Babies R Us and tested them out.

We used the Triumph only for Disney when she was 3, 4, and 5.

I figured when we were finished with it, we could sell it and get most of our $ back.

The Maclaren goes up to 55 or 65 lbs. Check their website and it will tell you the exact weight.

My DD is very tall and she fit it in great.

THe only cons to the stroller is not much room underneath and no cupholders. I bought the cupholder / organizer that attaches to the back of the stroller. The stroller will also tip backwards if you put a lot of weight in there once your daughter gets out of the stroller. Just be prepared for that.

Pros - lightweight, easy to push, long handles, high weight limit, easy to fold up, compact, the list goes on.............

Check online and you could get last years model cheaper with free shipping and no tax, usually..........

Either a Peg Pliko (try the Si, it's lighter), or a Mac XLR (it has a wider frame than normal). Plikos tend to be the best at staying steerable with a heavy load, because they can take up to 90 lbs. with a second child on the back step.

My DS6 is HUGE too....I don't remember exactly what size he was at your daughters age...but we were in Disney when he was 2.5 and he was able to ride all the 40" rides. He has always measured off the charts for height and usually around 90% for weight (just had him at his annual well visit today and he was off the charts in height and 95% in weight).

From his 1.5 trip until this last trip at 5.5 we used a Maclaren Triumph. Loved that stroller....it is a veteran of 10 trips with him and held up like a champ. He only used it a little bit on our last trip and he was a bit snug in it by then...but it wasn't bad. I think they are reasonable in price and we got TONS of use out of it. I would definitely get the Triumph or Quest and avoid the Volo if you have a bigger child.

We just went to Babies R Us and tried a bunch out. I was surprised how many stroller went over 40lbs...that has definitely changed in the last 2 years. So we tried the City Mini and that I think was my favorite BUT, her head is about 1" shy of hitting the canopy....which, I don't think is the wisest purchase for our needs. She must be more torso than legs, but at 40" they both seem big! :rotfl: The Maclaren seems like it would be doable, but I don't feel it is any better than my Chicco Liteway. They feel and look almost identical.

Maybe I just don't bring a stroller?? But I really see her needing a nap during our long days in the park. We usually are in the park just after rope drop until after fireworks/illuminations/what have you. I don't know many 2 year olds that could do that with out a stroller. I mean we could make her, and when she melts down at 4pm in the afternoon we'd have to lug her whining, hysterical, butt around. But on the other hand, I hate pushing an empty stroller. The decisions!!!!

Perhaps we should rethink how we spend our days. Maybe a trip back to the hotel to nap? We're staying AOA. This will be her first MAJOR wdw vacation. She went to epcot for 1 day a year ago. But we are going to WDW for 9 days, 7 full days of park hopping.

In your situation I'd really rent something. If she isn't using a stroller that much at home, and you can't find something you want to buy with growing room for her.

I rented a City Mini for our first trip and it was great. I bought us one because my son is a real stroller child, we are on the go a lot and he's pretty compact.

You might since the trip isn't until December want to consider the City Elite or City Mini GT.

Even if she could do the walking, would everyone in your group want to walk at that pace for the entire time. I know sometimes if I am not careful, I end up walking too fast for my son. It takes a conscious effort, and with your style of touring, I think you need something.

So sad to hear that your Chicco liteway is dying, we have that one. I just saw the City Mini at Babies r us and it looks awesome! I am eyeing it and I don't even need a stroller.

Both our boys have very long torsos and outgrew our stroller. We ended up going for a Zooper Twist which we love as do our 2 and 4 year olds. It had a higher weight limit as well as the back height which was what we needed.

I already am starting to get our 2 year old 5T tops because he has such broad shoulders and long torso so I understand. At 6 months he was to tall for the infant car seat which most kids can use to a year +.

Our kids are twins. 5T tops! My daughter was born Halloween and was out of the infant carrier by Easter. I just got back from a walk (for excercise so I was going fast) with her in our jogger and we used the canopy as the head rest.

Maclaren Techno XLR. Best stroller we have ever owned, it reclines fully, has a huge sunshade, and you can use it up to 65lbs.
