Everything seems to be pointing to Weber. They're more expensive but I'm tired of buying a new grill every five years. I want something that cooks evenly and has a large cooking area. I'd also like to get a rotisserie. Since we live in GA we use it year around. There are only 4 of us but we do love to entertain so it's not unusual to do a couple of pork butts or 3-4 racks of ribs.

I've looked at the Genesis and the Summit. There is a pretty big difference in price. Any info anyone on Weber or any other decent grill would be appreciated.

I can't give you any feedback on Weber gas grills, we prefer charcoal. Their charcoal grills are well worth the money.

I have a Weber. Like you, I went through I don't know how many other branded grills. Got tired of it. Got my Weber about 3 years ago. Now if some component needs replacing, it's easy to find and easy to do.

I cannot remember which one I have but it's like the next one up from being the cheapest.

We looked at a few Weber's at Lowes and they seemed to be made cheaply so we went with something else.

Last year we replaced our 14 year old Weber - with another Weber. It still worked, but we figured that after 14 years, instead of replacing the grates, we'd just get a new one. I don't know anyone who had a Weber who wasn't very happy with it.

We bought a weber gas grill about 6 years ago and it is still working great. I bought my parents the same one 2 years ago and they love it as well.

We have had the same Weber for about 10 years now. Ours has the cast iron grates and I love them!!! I can't remember where we bought it that it came with cast iron grates, either Lowe's or Home Depot. I see that Sears carries these grates, but not sure if any of their Weber's actually come with them.

Only ever had one issue. Within the first year or two the ignition switch went out. A quick call to Weber's customer service and we had one no charge in less than a week.

I live in PA and grill all year long. Other than that one issue, it has never let me down. If this one ever goes kaput, I will definitely buy another Weber!!!

We have a CharBroil that we bought in 2004. The ignition switch went out after the first year but we just use one of those long lighter things to start it. It doesn't cook very evenly but I know how to put stuff on there so I work around the issues. When this one dies we will probably get a Weber but we can also buy several CharBroils for the cost of one Weber so maybe not.

Our Weber is about 10 years old, auto ignite stopped working, just been too lazy to replace it. Works fine otherwise. We grill year round here in California.
This replaced a plain old Weber kettle BBQ, we just got tired of having to make sure we had briquets and getting them lite. We still the Kettle, no issues with it, we got it as a wedding present 29 years ago.

Last year we finally retired our 12 yr old char broil that we had babied and replaced almost everything on it for years. I thought DH was nuts for wanting to spend so much on the Weber but then I saw that it has a 10yr warranty that covered the majority of the parts we replaced on the Charbroil so this would be a wash if it continues to cook evenly for at least 5-7 yrs. He chose a Genesis model because we wanted to have the same amount of grill space as well as a side burner and availability of the rotisserie arm. We love it. (He bought an electric blue model-they took $100 off the floor model so he took it) and I hate the color but I have to say that it really makes a difference. He and his best friend made a rotisserie turkey for thanksgiving and it was fantastic. I will say that we did have to get the Weber version of the rotisserie as it worked so much better than the non-weber-well worth the extra $. A year later and it still looks and cooks brand new and in FL we use it at least 2x a week.

We grill year round up in Wisconsin too! First wEber gas grill lasted about 14 years, we are going on our 2nd WEber Genesis - either 6 or 7 years now.

LOVE, LOVE. LOVE the Weber!

We have a Genesis Gold with three burners and we love it! We have had it for about 9 years and use it year round even here in chicago. it has stainless steel grills which I have yet to replace and still looks good. With the three burners ad large grill area, I have never had trouble roasting a larg turkey. We have it hooked up to natural gas so I never have to worry about refilling propane. That is my long winded way of saying it is well worth the money.

We have a Jenn Air that is amazing. Six years and it still works like it is brand new. It is huge and we do have the rotisserie racks to place on it if we want to use them. Also, it has a side burner.
