Had one that I sed EVERY trip...it had one strap with velcro that made it easy to take on\off. The velcro no longer would hold and it met its untimely demise:sad:

So, with a little over a month to go, it's time to get a new one. I saw a ton at Dick's Sporting Goods but was hoping folks here might have one they might recommend.

Thoughts?

I usually carry a heavy duty bag ... Google Oakley kitchen sink.

I can honestly say that I could very easily make it brought the parks w a cinch bag they even have some good size ones down there. I carry everything with me including electronics, phones iPad and backup portable charger (hidden Mickey for iPhone is a battery killer) ponchos extra shoes and merchandise even hoodies for te cooler nights. So organized pockets do me a great service. Not convenient however So cinch would be my next go to if we packed lighter

Dick's carries Oakley bags. The Kitchen Sink is awesome but a bit out of my price range. Although looking at that one led me to checking out some of Oakley's other bags.

Your suggestion was very helpful. I think I'm going to go to Dick's, lookat their bags, narrow them down, then look at some online reviews and choose a bag after that.

I just got an Overland Shasta- it's a sling style backpack. I haven't use it yet though. I have stuffed it with all of my "disney" things and walked around me house wearing it. It was pretty comfortable, easy to put on/take off, and easy to things out of. My favorite part of the bag is the water bottle pocket on the outside of the bag. It is very roomy and I think it will work great on all day trips.

Check out ebags.com. They have tons of bags and often they are on sale. They have free shipping on returns if you don't like it. Zappos.com also have a lot of bags and free shipping, but I found them to be more expensive.

Good luck!!

Thanks for the links! Very good stuff. I am just nervous about ordering them online without seeing the bags in person. Aside from Dick's, we have Dunham's nearby and some for of outdoors place like an REI. I am trying to see what they all carry in the stores. This time when we go, we will be stroller-less for the first time:scared1:

I was also nervous about buying a bag without seeing it first but both sites have free return shipping and it is very easy. All you need is a printer (to print out the return shipping label), some packing tape ( to seal the box it came in and to tape the label on) and a UPS or Fed Ex drop-off location nearby. I was quickly refunded the money as well.

I returned 4 or 5 bags before keeping the Overland.

Then again, i like to shop online. I know not everyone does. Keep us updated and let us know what you find.

Good point on the free returns. I pnly have 34 days. I'm going to hit up Dick's this week to see what they have and if nothing jumps out at me, I'll try the online stores. That way I'll have 20+ days to order\receive\return if need be.

Im looking for a new backpack as well, something for everyday use as well as at the parks. Has anyone tried Patagonia backpacks?

I just checked them out on Amazon.com...they have some decent reviews but can't speak first hand.

I ordered both the Atom and the lightweight travel sling. The lightweight Travel sling is made of a nylon tent-like material. It is not lined. I did not like it at all.

The atom is a decent size. It is made of same nylon-tent material, but the whole bag is lined. It has nice size pockets and inner pockets. I did not like the strap. It had a thin waist strap and i did not know what to do with it if i didn't want to wear it. It I felt like it didn't "sit" right on me.

But everyone has different tastes. I have read reviews from people raving about them.
