Are you kidding Liz?? I look forward to reading about Laura and her progress, I know it's going to be a SLOW recovery , it took my niece almost 2 years and then it took longer to get it under control with meds but there's hope. Add to that Laura being a heart transplant baby...that makes things worse for her but she's a fighter and she's overcoming everything.
I am proud to be part of your support here , I just wish we were closer so I could help you out , I know long hospital stays are very draining but you have to do it.

You know that if you didn't update us, we would be bombarding this board with threads asking how your DD is doing! We want to know!!!!!

I feel so badly for you and your family, I can't imagine the stress of being at the hospital and being away from the rest of your family. Please make sure that you get some much needed rest as well.

Would it be alright if we sent your DD some cards, etc.? If so, PM me with an address. I want to do some little deed in cheering her up, she is such a brave girl!

Let's see, Laura is 13 years old. If anyone wanted to send a card that would be great and I know she'd love it! The address is:

A quick update with a bit of good news!

Laura is mostly able to get from laying in bed to sitting on the side of the bed by herself! I say mostly because first thing in the morning when she's still really tired she can't, and she can only do it in the hospital bed where she can grab on to the bed rails, but still its measurable progress because she couldn't do that a few days ago!

Also they are doing pool therapy which she loves. In the pool she can walk by herself (even though its kind of a hunched over form!) She's doing just great even though the progress is slow.

Today the neurologist said they still can't guarantee she'll recover 100% but said its not unreasonable to hope for that, so we're still hoping!

Been here 4 long weeks now (sigh). They'll reevaluate the end of next week to see if she can go home or if she needs to stay longer. Take care!

Liz, I'm so glad to hear an update! I have been wondering how things are going for Laura and you!

Laura continues to be in our daily prayers, as do you, Paul and Jeff. I am sure this has been such an ordeal, but it's nice to hear that you have hopes for a complete recovery!

Give that sweet girl a hug and a kiss from all the Snyders, please! And tell her we are so proud of all her hard work in therapy!
