Okay,
Can someone tell me how I might be able to pull this off. We are checking in at the GFV in a 2 bedroom on 4/12 and checking out on 4/22. One Reservation. There is 5 in our family and we are having two other families join us, but at separate times. First family of 4 from 4/12 to 4/16, then they are leaving and we are having another family of 4 from 4/16 to 4/21. How do we book fast passes for family #2 at the 60 day mark? I am guessing we will have to wait until the 30 day FP window? Any other options/thoughts? When we booked this reservation we were not sure that one party was going to make it, so i guess we should have booked two reservations and had Member services link them and reference that it was a continued reservation in the notes.

I don’t know, but I would suggest asking Member Services for help.

I would bet that Member Service would divide it into two reservations, adding the guests on the appropriate day. That would open up fast passes at 60 days from the check-in date of each group respectively.

I just hung up with Member Services and they said no can do. I should have booked two reservations at the time off booking I explained that we were unsure on part of the group coming up until this past weekend. They said, sorry but now you know for next time... Ugh....

Did you ask for a supervisor? It seems to me that somebody should be able to do that for you.

I did not, but I am going to call back and ask for a supervisor.

Okay, Thank you so much for your recommendation on the Supervisor Bobbiwoz. I am on the phone now and the Supervisor is splitting my reservation. They said they can't guarantee that i will stay in the same room, but they will not my reservations and that usually the Resort will do everything it can to keep us in that room. This saves my butt big time with the Mrs' Thank you again!

I am so happy for you!:yay:

Perhaps auto correct did something to what you typed. “ they will not my reservations” is confusing.

No need to mess with your reservation. At 60 days from checkin you could make FP for all your guests up to the number of days of park admission each has linked to their profile in MDE (as well as for your family up to length of stay, as long as they have valid admission linked). The resort reservation opens up the FP booking window for everyone on the reservation even if they’re not arriving the day of checkin. (In fact, you could make FP for people who wouldn’t be staying onsite at all, as long as they had valid tickets linked and at least one resort guest was in the same FP party.)

On the Theme Parks board there’s a very helpful sticky thread re FP FAQs. That’s where I learned the above.

In this case, there are more guests than the room will hold, so it would not be possible to get FPS for everybody without splitting the reservation.

It doesn’t matter. As long as someone on the reservation is in the party for a particular FP, even someone staying offsite could be booked for that same FP at 60 days. For instance, DH and I had reservation at Pop in early November and DD, DSiL and DSis were staying offsite. At 60 days from checkin at Pop I made FP for all five of us for rides we planned to do together. DD had to wait until 30 days out to make FP for things that neither DH nor I planned to ride.

That loophole is well documented in the FP FAQ thread I referred to above.

Interesting, but there would have been other issues as well, not related to the fastpasses if the reservation had not been split. The later arriving guests would not have been able to use their Magic Bands to open the resort room doors, as they would not have been on the reservation.

Ah. Since the title and first post of the thread referred only to troubles making FP, I didn’t think about room occupancy limits or count heads!
