Hi! Planning our first non-Disney trip, so need some tips and advice. We are staying in a time share from 8/14-8/20. We are planning to do one day at US/IOA. How busy do you think it will be that week (8/17 specially). My oldest daughter and husband LOVE coasters! We were looking into express passes, do you think at that time of August they will need them? What is the cheapest way to get them? I seen some previous posts saying to book just one night at an deluxe hotel would you book the night before we go or the night that we are there? Sorry for all the questions...US/IOA newbie problems! thank you in advance!

If you want to ride those things several times, express is the way to go. Check prices of the Royal Pacific, Hard Rock and Portofino to find your cheapest option. If you only want to purchase 2 express passes, that might work too. It is so difficult to judge mid August crowds. And if Hulk is just reopening then, crowds will be heavier.

When staying at one of the express hotels, you get express access for check-in and check-out day, so you can choose whichever is cheaper.

Maybe I read it wrong, but are you asking if you should book onsite deluxe room night before you need it or the day you are there?

Suggest you plan and book a one night only stay in advance
Easier to get a better rate than to try for day of

One night stay gives you two days of express and benefits
Day you check in and the day you check out

We're planning a trip around the same time period. Staying offsite but we have a room booked at RPR for 1 night. According to the hugely helpful stickies on this forum you can check in as early as 6AM, get your express passes, head to the parks and use them all day. Then the EP are good until the parks close on the day you check out. So EP for 2 days for your 1 night stay. Also, if you have some flexibility check around for room rates on different days as they can vary and be less expensive for a weekday.

Thanks for the replies! We booked RPR for 8/16 figured we will check in around noon, utilize the pool and relax, spend the night and on 8/17 go to the park using our EP. I'm super excited! Thanks for all the help!
