We are going to WDW/DCL on Nov 14-21st. After we get off the ship on the 21st we want to stay at WDW in a NON Disney hotel near the park for Thur, Fri and Sat nights. Can anyone give me an idea of a hotel that would be close enough to WDW that we wont regret not staying at the Poly again but it wont break our wallets, and one that will be closest to WDW or MGM???
Are the moderate resorts for WDW worht it or should we stay somewhere like a Radisson or Hyatt??? I dont want to spend a fortune because we will already be almost broke from the whole week before but we dont want to come home on Thursday since this is our FIRST trip to WDW and my kids first cruise!!
ANY suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks
Newbie Heidi

Check out the very first post on the top of this board by Webmaster Pete. It describes some great discounted hotel deals. Good luck! :)

You might want to try the Orlando Hotels board on this site. Also if you go to the "main" home for this site @ http://www.wdwinfo.com/ Pete usually has some good deals arranged with various hotels - when Pete first started doing this (and I assume it's still done) the hotels were personally inspected and had to meet and maintain certain standards in order to be included in the listing.

My favorite resort is Vistana. We stayed there last August for a week, it's a resort in itself. If you have the Entertainment Book you could get a real good price. We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, full kitchen and livingroom for $114 a night. I think there is 5 pools and 4-5 restaurants if you don't want to cook. We always had breakfast in the villa, so we didn't have to waste any extra time. Has washer/dryer in your own villa, Check it out. It is owned by Sheraton. Awesome.

Hotels near Disney,

Vistana is awesome, and Marriott just opened the Marriott Village (SpringHill Suites, Fairfield Inn, Courtyard?) Not a 100% sure about the third. There is a Bahama Breeze and Golden Corral on site for dining.

There is also the World Center Marriott. Has a golf course, if you are into that.

Good Luck!

You guys are FANTASTIC!! Thank you all so very much!! I guess I never noticed the top thread by Pete...I will go check all of this out!
Thanks again!
Heidi
