I am driving down to FL for the 4th. I check into OKW on the 4th and will stay till the 11th.
Since we are driving I would like to arrive on the 3rd and stay somewhere for the night where we can get a good night sleep and start out early the next morning for the parks. I would hate to be too tired to see the fireworks.
Does anyone have any recommendations for someplace cheap (under $30) with 2 beds and no bugs?
I used to check out the I-95 guide on line but they no longer have the Orlando area. thanks Peggie

Look on roomsaver.com. This is the same book they have at the tourist info places along the highways that have coupons in them. You can print the coupons out at home if you need them.
I have a sister that lives in GA and her friend lives in FL and she brought alot of info from FL, when my sister came home to LA she brought them with her. There are alot of hotels for good rates in those books. Try them and have fun!

First off, in Central Florida, there is no place that can guarantee you a bug-free experience. We have run into swarms of ants in our room at a Disney hotel and also plenty of Palmetto bugs so paying for onsite is no guarantee.

As for really cheap offsite, check hotelkingdom.com. Also, consider Priceline. You should be able t get something for $30 or less through them.

My single bachelor son swears by Priceline....do a one star hotel, disney vicinty for about 18 dollars and he as always been happy with the hotel.

Good Luck...Ted

We have stayed at Magic Castle Inn and Suites for $29 a night for 2 beds...It's no palace but not gross either. It had no bugs on any of our visits (2 visits were one day and the first time was 11 nights)

They have a fridge in each room...I think I would do priceline if I were you. I would but I'm Canadian and we can't use priceline...

Yikes, I wouldn't do a one-star hotel, but I would have when I was young and innocent.:) I have stayed in some real DIVES, so I now know they exist (when I was younger, I would never have believed a filthy hotel could stay open--now I know better!)

DH and I have gone only as low as 2.5 stars on Priceline, and we were able to pay $26 once and $31 once for the Clarion Maingate, an older and somewhat worn (but clean and safe) on 192 in a great location.

Thanks for the replies. I will check that site with the coupons and Priceline. I have had problems with hotelkingdom, I put in the date and it comes back that I have put in a date before todays date.
the big problem is that I need a room for July 3rd into the 4th, a big travel day.
I might have a problem with a 1 star, maybe I would go for a 2. At 50 I do have some needs. lol. But since I am paying for the rooms at OKW the rest of the group can put up with wherever I chose for them. Peggie

Hi...looks like some nice two stars are coming up for about $21-23 on Priceline...good luck..Ted
