Need a better alternative to 1900 PF dinner...Help!

I'm trying to get our ADR's finalized for our just-booked (and quickly approaching) June vacation. In a rush to get "something" reserved, I have booked:

Day 1:
1900 PF Dinner (with Cinderella and Prince Charming)

Day 2:
CRT Lunch (with Cinderella and other princesses)

Day 3:
CM Breakfast (with Mickey and Friends)

It was only after I got these booked that I realized Cinderella would be at the 1900 PF dinner. (I originally thought it was going to be the same as breakfast with Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland, which would be great...but no.) Not terribly excited about seeing Cinderella two days in a row...not for the amount it costs to do so.

I know CRT is overpriced and has mixed reviews, but my girls are BIG into Cinderella and the thrill of eating in the Castle is something that I really want to give them at this age. So we will be keeping the CRT ressie.

However, I would like to replace 1900 PF with something else that doesn't involve princesses. In fact, I don't even care if it has characters, as long as it's fun for a 6yo and 4yo girl. We are on DDP, so it would be nice if it was a 1-credit TS option.

We're staying at the POLY if that makes a difference (and Ohana's is completely booked...I've already tried that one). I wish they still did a Character Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern...that would be perfect.

Suggestions?

It sounds like you would prefer to stay in the MK area? You don't have a Park Hopper?

Even without the characters we have always enjoyed Liberty Tree Tavern (a favorite of dh's), then there's also the Grand Floridian Cafe (we've taken our dd twice for lunch and she was 4 and 5 the times we went), or if you can't find something in the MK area how about one of the TS at a resort, like Boma or something at WL?

Sorry, forgot to mention, we do have Park Hopper tickets, so we are not limited to MK area. We're open to any park/resort...just want a fun place with decent food.

My friends said their sons loved the fun and games at Whispering Canyon dinner at Wilderness Lodge. So much they ate there twice. Or consider doing breakfast instead of dinner at 1900 Park Fare. I've also had better luck getting breakfast at 'Ohana. Also check into the Dine-In at Hollywood Studios. Food gets mixed reviews, but dining in the cars with the movie playing gets great reviews. Or call and ask about the Fantasmic Dining Package at Hollywood & Vine--includes VIP tickets for Fantasmic if you're lucky enough to get the package. If you go to lunch, they will have characters (Little Einsteins, JoJo and Goliath I believe). No characters at dinner.

Haven't been there myself, but Whispering Canyon Cafe sounds like a hoot! I have gone ahead and booked their breakfast for my family's trip in May. My other suggestion would be the 50's Prime Time Cafe at DHS. Both places serve good hearty comfort food, and while they are not character meals, the servers are definitely "in character", making for a unique and fun dining experience.

I have heard rough reviews of Whispering Canyon but our fam LOVED it our last trip.
The milk shakes are delicious!!!

How about something simple as the Kona Cafe. They have a show kitchen for their desserts.

Heavy buffet for breakfast and then a heavy sit-down meal for lunch ... I'm thinking something light and non-buffet for dinner?

How about salads over at the hydroponic restaurant outside of the Land at Epoct? Sunshine something or other. Save your heavy meal credit for another time.

They have beautiful light sandwiches and salads at the Plaza restaurant in MK if you're wanting to stay there.

I just don't know where I'd put two buffets in one day, plus another heavy meal.

Crystal Palace, Whispering Canyon I'd recommend.
My kids enjoy both.
But have to say, their favorite is 1900 Park Fare. We like the variety of the buffet, and find it a lot of fun!
The stepsisters are a lot of fun, and is nice to see Cinderella and Prince Charming dancing together.
I'd say for your girls, 1900 Park Fare would be the best choice.
We do all the character meals and that's always been their favorite!

I'm going to chime in with a different suggestion...I would suggest you stick with 1900 Park Fare, especially if your kids are Cinderella fans. First, at the castle, they will just barely get to see her (just in the photo op before going to the meal, which is about a 10 second operation before you're shuttled away & sent upstairs.)

But at 1900 Park Fare, not only do the Prince and Cinderella come to each table & chat, sign autographs & pose for pics (separately) they also have a little dance with the kids sometime each hour.

But the REAL fun at 1900 Park Fare dinner is the stepsisters...OMG, we laughed so hard tears ran down our faces at their antics. (And we were a party of 4 adults!) These two make faces, flouce around, flirt with the little boys, fight with each other, yell for their Mother (Lady Tremayne, the stepmother is also there, being haughty and doing things like correcting baby's manners.)

If you absolutely don't want another Cinderella meal, I suggest The Wave (Contemporary resort) or Kona Cafe (Polynesian.) Crystal Palace at MK is fun with the Pooh characters if you want a buffet/character meal.
