Need 2 lose 10+ lbs in 5 weeks. Pills, supplement recs?

I am going to my 20th HS reunion & have not had the time to lose the weight the natural way. I am 15 pounds over my heathy weight (145 for 5'4" female), I have been working out at a gym 2-3 times a week, but seem to be gaining. I need to lose the weight, I try to eat right, but it seems not to be enough. Are there any weight loss pills/supplements that can help me acheive the seemingly impossible? I can up my workouts or whatever, I just need to lose the tummy. thanks!
 
You might be able to lose 10 pounds in 5 weeks -- that's 2 lbs a week. It wouldn't hurt to log everything that you eat into a calorie counter as well as your activity. It is very easy to underestimate your caloric intake and overestimate how many calories you burn from exercising. But who knows if the weight will come off your tummy -- it might come off someplace you would rather it not ;)

Honestly, you probably can't get back the body you had in high school even if you have five months to work on it.

If your tummy really bothers you, maybe some spanx or something like that.

Good luck and don't worry about how you look and just enjoy your HS reunion! Your friends all aged and are feeling the effects of gravity, too. :flower3:
 
Totally possible. I find when I first start a routine of exercise and just try to eat healthier foods and keep eye on portions and no junk food snacks(healthy snacks okay though) I will lose about 5 lbs in first week and then 1-2 lbs the following weeks. You can definitely do it just make some small increases in what you already do. Try for 5-6 days at the gym or look into 10 minute solutions. If you aren't finding time to make it to the gym more. Youtube has lots of 10 minute cardio videos you can work out to every morning and when you start feeling it you may challenge yourself to increasing that to 15-20 or even 30 minutes everyday.

Find some motivation. Join a challenge. Start a challenge with a close friend to get fit in 5 weeks. Accountability really helps for me.

Being less over your target weight is often harder, I hear.
 
My doctor prescribed Phentermine 37.5mg..I lost 14 pounds in 11 days..I never worked out..You can only take it for 3 months and it's prescription only..My friend started the same week as I did & she lost nothing..They had NO effect on her whatsoever..

Phentermine worked great for me, and my doctor recently recomended alli. Also, a great "quick fix" diet is the baby food diet. You subsitute all snacks and 2 meals with baby food and then eat 1 healthy meal. I lost 1 to 2 pounds a day doing the baby food diet and working out.

You can safely lose 2-3 pounds a week by
1) Looking at portion size
2) Looking at your intake balance
3) Getting to the gym 4-5 times a week
3a) Hitting a strength routine at least 3 of those days
3b) Aeobic cardio of at least 45-60 minutes 5x a week.
4) drink 8-10 glasses of water a day
4a) STOP alcohol and soda intake - yes even diet for now.
5) you cannot spot reduce a certain part of the body The loss will come from all over.

Most of all STOP worrying. Your recent gain is most likely the result of nerves....

Sure it is not guarenteed - and you may only lose half the weight. Yes it takes an hour or so a day more than swallowing a pill. But you will feel better about yourself and feel full of energy within the month.

Or you can take a drug whose side effects include a racing heart rate, an edgy feel or needs a Depends. And if you have not modified anything will push the weight back on just as quickly as you shed it.

You've probably gained weight because you've added muscle (which is a good think because it increases your metabolism).

What does your diet consist of? Have you tried a no/low carb diet? My issue was sugar, chocolate cravings. I went on a no carb diet and lost weight fairly quickly. You have to cut out all carbs, including starchy veggies and fruit for the first week or so, then you can slowly add back small amounts of healthy carbs. It's tough but will get rid of your cravings and kick start your metabolism to help you lose weight. Your portions end up being small naturally because you can only eat so much chicken :) I use the Lose It app in my iPhone to keep track of what I'm eating and my carb counts. Also watch the nuts, they have good protein but lots of fat. A handful a day can help keep you full in between meals: almonds and walnuts are best as they contain healthier fats, stay away from peanuts...

I gained some weight back because I switched from wine to beer (wine started giving me headaches after one glass about a year ago).

My 20yr is Sept 19 - only 4 weeks away! I'm trying to lose about 10lbs. Let's keep each other motivated to stay on track! Your reunion must be coming up soon. Have fun!
