Need 1 last Dinner Suggestion

Dh and I are going the first week of October and will be on the dining plan, we'll be there 6 nights. He's a big kid at heart and has asked for character dinners. (absolutely LOVES the characters-very cute to me )

So far we have the following choices made:
Liberty Tree Tavern
Crystal Palace
1900 Park Fare
Chef Mickey's
Garden Grill

We need one more restaurant. This one does not need to be character dining. (I think 5 character dinners will do it!) We're only planning on spending 1 night in Epcot, so we probably wouldn't want to go back there for another night's dinner. I'd like a restaurant that's known for really good food and will only be 1 TS credit. Any suggestions?

No 2 TS meals, and not at Epcot? Gosh, that's a toughy. Unfortunately, all the best restaurants are either at Epcot or are 2 TS. The best of the rest, IMHO, is Spoodles. Spoodles used to be excellent, but, from what I've heard, isn't the same, now, but is still pretty-good. Another possibility is Prime Time Cafe, but that's almost like another character meal (and I really think five is too many, even for a big characters fan like me -- I wouldn't do five with the kids along!) Concourse Steakhouse isn't bad. I've heard good things about the Plaza Restaurant at MK, and Hollywood and Vine at D-MGM, but haven't been to either, yet.

My vote would be for Kona or Le Cellier (which is not on your list because it is at Epcot). Both are great! The food at the Concourse was good, but the service was lacking. Maybe you would have better luck...

(Le Cellier pretty inconsistent. I wouldn't put it at the top of any list. If you're going to go back to Epcot, I'd do Marrakesh, or Biergarten, or Rose and Crown, or Coral Reef, which used to be a 2 TS meal but isn't any more, so by Disney's standards it's clearly the closest to the top of the 1 TS restaurants.)

I don't know about consistancy as this was our first trip, but we had an excellent meal there & our server was great!

That's what I told him, but last year we did 4 character dinners and 1 character breakfast and he had a blast. He's had such a tough year, I'm just gonna suck it up and go with it-he deserves to have a great vacation. I don't mind the characters, and they're always a fun, upbeat place to eat. Although, between you and me, I picked out Crystal Palace. I know it's not the best cuisine in all the World, but I love it! Maybe I can talk him out of Chef Mickey's or 1900 Park Fare. Then maybe we can try a couple of restaurants we haven't been to.

Artisit Point at the Wilderness Lodge. I like that restaurant because it is unique and very romantic for just a couple.

Artist Point is, of course, the best restaurant at WDW, but unfortunately is 2 TS.

I was looking at the menus--What do you think of WCC or O'Hanas?

WCC was a lot of fun, but the food is just so-so, at least that was our experience.

I agree the food is so-so at WCC. We are doing the dining plan this November and are looking at O'Hana's as well so any input would be appriciated here too. Is the Lilo and Stich Character breakfast at O'Hana's included in the Dining plan?

We love the food at Kona Cafe. There isn't any real theming there, and the atmosphere is very casual, but the food is delicious.

Hey, when anyone asks for my favorite restaurant recommendation, I always suggest Citrico's at the Grand Floridian.. Personally think it is the best food on property.. now not sure how it works with the plan as we do not do the Disney Dining plan as we have AP's and have the Disney Dining Experience card, which they do take..

What about Boma's? The food was incredible and I am a very picky eater. It's only 1 credit. After dinner you can stroll around the resort. It is very beautiful and they have a great gift shop.

I agree with jcsbama's suggestion of Boma's. Eat there - the food is great. And then spend time exploring the resort and watching the animals. It could make for a nice relaxing and enjoyable evening.

I'd suggest making it back to Epcot and eating at Coral Reef. They just switched it from a 2 ts to a 1 ts, so I think you'll get a lot of good food for the money. If you're doing resort dining, I'd skip WCC. The food wasn't the greatest, but BOMA'S is great! Wlofgang Puck Cafe is good at DTD and last month ate at Alfredo's in Epcot---it was pretty good. And always Marakesh, the food is fabulous! So you just might want to head back to Epcot for that non-character meal!

We love Ohana's! Great food! Although I will say we have not been since they changed their menu. We did book it for our upcoming trip in March.
Only 20 more days!!!!!!!!!!

We recently had the Lilo & Stitch breakfast at Ohana and it was great. We love Stitch though so that may have had something to do with it. Atmosphere was excellent. I would not hesitate to have breakfast there again, or dinner for that matter. And yes, it is included in the dining plan as 1 TS.
