LOL, I was thinking the same thing :rotfl:

Lol! When we lived overseas we had to be in Singapore for six months. I had to teach my daughter myself during that time. The only school books available were British. So she learned to add the "u" to many words.

When we moved back to the States she was marked off whenever she spelled that way. I finally marched over to the school and told them they should not tell her it was wrong, only different. :wave2:

Actually - we're American, we take U's out of random words. :earboy2:

This might have gone over a few heads, but for what it's worth, Joe, I actually laughed out loud at this.

Lagh ot lod!

It's OK -- I'm quite used to people just giving me blank stares after I say some things in real life. But thanks!

(Actually, if you leave out enough u's, does it start to look a little Scottish?)

I thought VMK was a good spelling lesson for us Americans, Shrunken Ned is not! Maybe he is British :earsboy:

I saw that study also. I must admit, I read the above as quickly as I would have if all the words were spelled correctly.

Even better, I'm from the Maine and Massachusetts area so if I speak my local dialect I get to add and subtract 'r's from words like "bettah idear". But, we must obey the Law of Conservation of Rs so for every R we drop, we must add an R to another word.

qruthie (the 'q' is silent) - hmmm, maybe I shouldn't be commenting on spelling :rotfl2:

Shrunken Ned is like the Yeti. He is beyond the VMK dictionary.

Seriously, has anyone ever tried to type a european word in VMK and not have it blink red? :)

It's a typo. It doesn't matter if he's British! Then again, my nintendog had no idea what I was talking about when I called him Andrex. He thought I said Andrec!
