Picked up the phone and called DVC tonight. Nearly made a purchase on the spot, but having another quick think about it.

Torn between Boardwalk and Beachclub - very difficult decision to make. Think the chance of getting a 'cheaper' standard view studio at Boardwalk with the 11 month window might sway me, although the fact that only Beachclub residents can use Storm Along Bay is niggling at me.

Might take the plunge tomorrow, but may need to toss a coin to make the decision as to which home resort.

DVC rep. reckoned, on current figures, Beachclub will be sold out within a week, Boardwalk shortly after.

Just remember you can stay at any of the DVC resorts with your pts once you are a member. If the lower pts at BWV appeal to you, and they are a nice savings of pts, then go with BWV you can always use SAB when you stay at BCV. Standard view rooms are harder to get then getting into BCV is, so the 11 mo booking advantage at BWV would be great for when you want to stay at BWV and save pts, when you want to enjoy SAB just book at BCV and pay the higher pts and have a great time at the wonderful pool.

Good Luck on your decision!!! Mom & I decided on BCV for its colorful theme & the pool. But BWV is nice too. Good luck. Remember, you can go anywhere you want once your a member. I plan on going to them all @ least once & probably more than that!! Good Luck

Hiya,

Reasoning behind leaning towards BWV is that I understand it can be difficult to get into standard view studios if you do not have the advantage of the 11 month window.

I'm in a tricky position - if I want either BCV or BWV I have to make a quick decision or rely on resale. I would like to take a look at both places, but not planning to be in Florida until December by which time my choice would be resale or SS. However, sounds as though if I do make a purchase now, I won't have much (read: no!) chance of using the points in December...

Hi Darren. I agree totally with what DeeP has said - your chances of getting a BWV standard view at 7 months will be very slim, particularly at certain times of the year.

We may be biased as we originally bought in at the Boardwalk, but have decided to do two add-ons there as well as the lower points mean a longer stay! Not a small consideration when you take flights from the UK into account.

As for this December - I think it's unlikely that there would be much availability at BWV or BCV, as it's traditionally a busy time of year for DVC. OKW still might be a possibility though if that would be a compromise for you, and it's less points again.

I think you may have a chance on getting something for December.

After you purchase, you can have your guide check the inventory for you and see what is available for the time frame you are looking at.
