Nearest place is Goodings at the Crossroads (just outside DTD) but WAYYYY OVERPRICED!! Instead I'd go left at the lights at the crossroads onto S. Apopka Vineland. Go straight thru the next lights and look for abc Liquors on the right side. Also there's a Winn-Dixie close by for water and other groceries.

The other option is to go to Wal-Mart on 535, but they don't sell liquor, only wine and beer.

HTH!!! :goodvibes

Don't airports have duty free liquor stores? You might be able to save yourself a taxi fare by checking the airport directory before you check into Magical Express.

Thanks but I already thought of that....I checked the Orlando airport directory online and it didn't list a duty free shop. :cutie:

According to Southwest's website:
Southwest allows alcohol to be carried in checked luggage under the following conditions:

Alcohol (wine and liquor) must be in the original unopened container with the manufacturer’s label when transported in or as checked baggage.
The maximum quantity of liquor that may be transported in or as checked baggage on Southwest Airlines is five liters per Customer. Wine is not subject to the five-liter per Customer limitation.
Alcohol content may not exceed 70% by volume (140 proof).
Alcohol (wine and liquor) in checked baggage must be securely packaged in a leak-proof bag with adequate professional packaging designed to fit the proportions of the bottle to prevent breakage.
Alcohol (wine and liquor) accepted as checked baggage must be contained within a corrugated box secured with sealing tape. The contents must be packaged in a leak-proof bag with professional packaging designed to fit the proportions of the bottle to prevent breakage.
Liquor and wine packaging is available for sale at Southwest Airlines ticket counters for $5.00 per unit.
Southwest Airlines does not accept liability for breakage of liquids or fragile items in checked luggage even if transported in special packaging purchased from Southwest Airlines. Packaging purchased at Southwest Airlines ticket counters is intended for liquor or wine placed inside checked baggage only.
Professional packaging by alcohol and wine suppliers (e.g.,cruise lines, wineries, duty-free shops) is acceptable as long as the contents have adequate cushioning and the packaging prevents leakage.
All alcohol (wine and liquor) is subject to TSA screening.

So that solves the alcohol problem...but still wanted some bottled water...any ideas????:confused3

While I completely agree that Goodings is overpriced, the Wal-Mart on 535 does, in fact, have a full liquor store--opened last year as I recall. Prices are good, tho not extraordinarily so (no more than $1 cheaper than ABC''s non-sale prices), and selection is nowhere near as vast as ABC's, but if you were going there anyway...

BTW, the Wal-Mart on 192 also has a full liquor store, but the one on Turkey Lake does not. Kind of a hit or miss thing.

Also, the Walgreens South of WDW on 535 (next to Chik-Fil-A) has a decent liquor store, although the one north does not.

Didn't know that about Wal-Mart...I always go just for beer and wine, but DBF will be needing his vodka for our Nov. trip. :goodvibes

As a local central Floridian, I also highly recommend ABC. It is a Florida chain that has the best selection with very reasonable prices. In my opinion, Wal-Mart liquor stores may have some cheaper prices compared to ABC (but not always), but ABC has a wider range of beers, wines, and liqueurs. Also, many newer ABC's have walk-in humidors filled with premium cigars. The ABC in my town of Winter Haven even offers gourmet cheeses. Most ABC's are open on Sundays (including the one on Apopka-Vineland nearest to Disney, although Florida liquor laws only allow beer and wine sales on Sundays), and each ABC store hosts wine tastings and cigar smoking events about 4 times a year. For more information about ABC Fine Wine and Spirits stores and for a calendar of ABC tasting events, check out www.abcfws.com.

Good info! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the detail about Florida law that does not allow liquor sales on Sunday. I was planning on shopping on Sunday for supplies since we get in late Saturday and now I know that I may end up needing to make two trips. Gotta get some scotch to wind down after a day at the parks, you know.

Also, thanks for the link. www.abcfws.com

You can always ship a box to your
hotel before you leave with your
ressie# and check-in date.:thumbsup2

The HESS gas station across the street
from BW is cheap for snacks/water/soda/and beer,
but not sure how you'd get it back to POP:confused3

Hehehe used to hit that one up all the time back in my Vista Lay I mean Vista Way days!!! :rotfl2:

There was also a big discount liquor store more or less across 192 from Walmart if I recall correctly.

I've read in other threads about grocery delivery service called wegoshop.com and gardengrocer.com
They can deliever water ,liquor and any other grocery items

There is one on 535 about 5 minutes from DTD. It's next to Walgreens and by Chik-fil-a (sp?)

Just watch out for all the CP's!! LOL.
