Nearest liquor store??????

I would have it delivered by a grocery delivery service, and save the hassle of packing or venturing out by taxi!

:dance3: Did the math and I'm having it delivered along with coffee, mixers, milk for my coffee and cased water. wegoshop.com charges $17 for a delivery of up to $100 in purchases and it goes up a bit from there. For that amount I have no desire to spend my time getting in a cab, paying for it, and going to the market! lol And I'll even tip well for it!

So here is the easiest part of the math that made it make sense......two of use there for 8-9 days. Figure at a minimum 2 bottles of water per day. Take one in the morning and probably want at least one at night. Thats roughly 32 bottles. A case of water on wegoshop runs from $4.99-up depending on brand. Lets be fair and say I get the $8.99 case + the $17 delivery for just that item! that is still only $25.00. If I buy that same water at WDW its $64! ($2/bottle) so its like getting everything else I want delivered for free and saving myself $39 in water costs! Swwwweeeeeetttttt......... :cool1: :goodvibes  :cool1:

Although the pricing will definitely be much higher, you can also get liquor in the gift shop at the resort hotels. I didn't look real close when I was there (in April) but it looks like they're probably 375mL bottles... not a huge selection of course, but looked like a little of everything. Depending on what you need/want, the convenience may be worth the cost.

Will you let me know how that works out for you and what you did?
I looked at the wegoshop website - it seems like a great deal.
We are going in November and I was trying to figure out how I was going to find my 2 most important items: VODKA and WATER! LOL

There is Publix grocery store pretty close to the south gate just off of Hwy 192. It's at
Xentury City Center
2925 International Dr
Kissimmee, FL 34746-4407
Main: (407) 397-1171
Not all Publix carry liquor however, call first. There is Goodies (not Goodings) near the Publix, but they can be expensive. It's a large convenience store.

Someone said Hess gas stations are cheap. There is one at Downtown disney. You have to cross the street but it is close enough to walk to from Downtown Disney and the Disney hotel shuttle bus. I wonder if Hess stations on Disney property are cheap also? Their gas is.

Some people go to Goodings at Crossroads. They make up for the higher cost by skipping the taxi. They take a hotel shuttle to a downtown Disney hotel, Doubletree Lake Buena Vista is the closest, and then walk the half mile or so accross Hwy 535 to the Goodings in the Crossroads shopping center. It saves cash but uses up time.

Not to be a downer but I hope wegoshop.com is better than when I used
them over a year ago. I was overcharged, they forgot items and
they were late, hours late.
The items they forgot were suppose to come the next
day, but didn't come for 3 days.
They do deliver to your room and they check the ID for alcohol.

I'm using gardengrocer.com this time.
12- for all orders and over 200- the delivery is free.

here's a thread

good luck :goodvibes

This is something that I really thought long and hard about. When we went to DL last year we had Albertson’s deliver. It was great and just as askayjay stated the water and delivery charges added up to what water alone would cost in the parks….so everything else was a bonus.

For our October WDW trip we decided to rent a car for 24 hours. This will get us to the Boardwalk, we’ll stop at the liquor store and also take grocery stop. Sorry….I’m a grocery geek….love to look at grocery stores around the world. You never know when you’re going to find that item that you can’t find at home anymore.

If anyone in your party is or has been in the military, seems to me like we had liquor at Shades of Green military resort. I am pretty sure we did buy some, but maybe not. I am sure there would be at least one Diser that would share a taxi with you to the liquor store. Where there's a party, there's a Diser.:cool1:

I have written down closest ABC and Walmart, but we will not have a car...Is cab fare expensive or are there other transport options-we will be at the POP.:dance3:

Just as a reference for beer and drinks like hard lemonade or those Smirnoff things. I got an 18 pack of Miller Lite for $13.99 at the Hess across from the Marketplace which was great because at the Gift Shop it's like $12.00 for a SIX PACK:scared1: My sister bought some of those Smirnoff things but I'm not sure how much it was. Doritos were 2/$5.00. I think they're very reasonable and plan to stop back on the 26th when I don't have a car and take it back to the hotel on the bus. (I hope they have bags):drinking1

is the Hess a gas station or store? and is the Marketplace in downtown Disney??? thanks for the price info-I looked at cabs to Walmart and it would be about $25 bucks-fyi there is a cab calculator on mousesavers.com:thumbsup2

with a store inside which has a decent selection of things. And it is across the street from the parking for Marketplace/Pleasure Island. Just take the bus from Pop to DTD!
