Nearest grocery store to Saratoga Springs

Leaving in 5 days...Without using the grocery store within the park. What is the closest grocery store to Saratoga Springs/Downtown Disney? I'll go by taxi

Goodings is the "closest" as it is right at the end of Hotel Plaza Blvd, but don't go there they are overpriced... There is a Winn Dixie less than a mile North of Goodings, or there is a new Super Walmart about 3 miles south both on 535.

I can highly recommend Garden Grocer. We used them last weekend and it was perfect. Will use them in June again. Probably for the price of the taxi, it will pay for the delivery charge, and they bring everything on a handtruck to your room.

Will you be getting a ton of stuff or just a little? Items at the closest grocery store are rather expensive(almost double what you would pay at the Winn Dixie and I'm sure Walmart is less expensive than the Winn DIxie (don't know don't shop at walmart). Because of the cab fare the poster who mentioned the garden grocer delivery service may be correct about the grocery prices. But if you only need a few things I would say go to Goodings and spare yourself the cab fare both ways by taking the resort bus to DTD than walking to Goodings, your groceries will be too much to walk back to DTD with so grab a cab only one way from Goodings to SSR.

We use the Publix thats not far from 535 and just past the Outlets on Vineland . Great prices and very clean.

Got to agree with this recommendation.

Don't go to Goodings just because its closest. You'll pay a lot more.

Glad I found this thread! We are going to have to do some grocer shopping when we get down there and I may look into the Garden Grocer now! Thanks!

BTW - I saw there was a $12.00 delivery charge for the groceries. How much do any of you tip your delivery guy?

Publix is my favorite, I used to live within a mile of it. Very large, clean, GREAT bakery and sandwiches. Plus the Character Premier at the mall across the street. You can get your discounted Disney souvenirs (the store is owned by Disney).

You might want to check out www.wegoshop.com
They charge a $17 delivery fee, which might be your cab fare. They shop at the stores you want, will stop at more than one, including liquor stores. They deliver at a pre-arranged time.
