Hi everyone. We are going to WDW in August and are thinking about heading to the beach for a day or two on "our way back" to Kansas City. Is there any beach that you pros would recommend within a few hours of WDW? (And not going south - i.e. the opposite way of home!) Thanks.::MinnieMo

Thanks for the quick reply! How far is that from WDW?

This is from my 4 adn 2 yr olds who are sitting on my lap right now. They love this icon.

I like it too.

Can't remember exactly how long it took us, but it wasn't real bad, maybe an hour and a half? We went to one called Turtle Beach in Sarasota and it was awesome. Hardly any people there - beautiful. DH even got to swim near a killer whale!:earseek: I exited the water when I saw that, but dopey DH just stayed there. "Orca" just swam off into the great blue yonder, but I wasn't taking any chances.;)

Wow - That would be cool but really scary too. Did you guys stay in Sarasota or just visit? If you stayed there, do you remember where?:wave2:

We didn't stay there. Just did the beach. But I would love to stay there - or better yet - LIVE there.:sunny:

Okay - this is sort of a technicality - but do you know if you visited Siesta Beach, South Lido Beach or Turtle Beach? (I've been doing my homework on Sarasota since we last talked).

Also, does anyone know anything/have any opinions about the St. Pete area beaches (Caldesi Island or Ft. Desoto)?

I still wish I could find something heading north, but all I can think of is Daytona, and I went there as a teenager and remember it as being kind of busy. Also, I think the panhandle has some pretty beaches, but I looked on Mapquest, and that will take me WAAAAY too far off course. :(

What do you think? Thanks again.
Can hardly wait for the Disney trip.::MinnieMo
