I live in Ma and just got up anybody got any info on the storm? I it still coming??

Oh it's coming, so get ready! I am right in the path of the storm! Bring it on!

According to the weather channel, southern connecticut (where I am) can expect about a foot of snow my the end of the storm. DH has the snowblower gassed and ready and DS hopes to make some money shoveling!

So you guys are all south of MA ....mabye it will miss us .. I mean it is snowing here. I do not want another school day...please we will get out so late in June and the kids lose the momentum when they are out too much.

i live in MA, just south of the cape and islands. We probably won't know what we will be getting until it actually gets here or not. You know howcrazy the weather is here in New England!!

I heard last night that the Cape was going to bear the brunt of it. I bet it will be like 3 inches by the type they are through hyping it..

I'm in New Jersey, just below Trenton. We have been issued a Winter Storm Warning from 4 pm Saturday through 1 pm Sunday. Most of the snow is to accumulate overnight. Expected accumulation is 6 to 13 inches.

Normally this wouldn't bother me. But my DH is in Chicago on business until tomorrow night. I have to pick him up at the airport tomorrow night at 7 pm. So I have to manage to take care of my 3 1/2 and 20 month old, and shovel the driveway out! Woo hoo! I'm not worried about getting the driveway done. I'm worried about the plows blocking me in! I may also get up in the middle of the night to do a little shoveling. This way the kids won't be an issue! ;)

Ooops, just realized that this is a New England thread. Stay safe everyone! :)

We're getting slammed tonight-blizzard warnings now. I live right near the Cape and they've upped the totals for 12"+++++++++++++++++++ for us......

I sure hope your right! I can't stand losing power, we are one of the towns that always loses it first. I'm going out this morning to see if I can get another days worth of firewood, just in case and I've got the scrabble & monopoly out just in case :teeth:

DH was leaving for El Paso tomorrow for his deployment to Iraq and then onto Ft. Bliss. His Delta flight was scheduled for 6 am tomorrow. I called Delta this morning to get details on the cancellation announcements....just in case. Well "just in case" is a reality and the flight has been cancelled already. He is rebooked for the next day on a later flight in the morning. I am glad to have him home for an extra day but this means it will put him behind a week for Iraq. Which then means, it will put him behind for a week getting home.

This is my dream and I have it each time a plow driver blocks me in JUST as he sees me finish my drive. I dream that all the plow drivers are stranded and surrounded by snow(no food and on the other side of the snow pile is a huge banquet) they shovel and shovel and JUST as they are about to escape to safety, I drop 50lbs of hard packed snow in their path and they need to start all over again and this goes on forever. Of course I am standing above them smiling as I drop the snow just as they smile as they plow me in. Yes, I know this is well thought out but I have had way to many storms to dream about it!! :rotfl2:

Im near the cape also!!!
yeah, I really want a good storm! the only thing that stinks is that I have animals and will have to shovel my why out to the barns because hubby was up all last night puking and I dont know how to drive the tractor :(

Yikes, I just realised that I have everything I need to weather the storm, except pull ups! I guess im running to the store this morning!

Oh--IT'S COMING All Right. This is from weather.com this morning:

Blizzard Watchfrom the National Weather Service:

/O.EXT.KBOX.BZ.A.0001.060212T0400Z-060212T2300Z/ EASTERN ESSEX MA-WESTERN NORFOLK MA-SOUTHEAST MIDDLESEX MA- SUFFOLK MA-EASTERN NORFOLK MA-NORTHERN BRISTOL MA- WESTERN PLYMOUTH MA-EASTERN PLYMOUTH MA-SOUTHERN BRISTOL MA- SOUTHERN PLYMOUTH MA-BARNSTABLE MA-DUKES MA-NANTUCKET MA- NORTHWEST PROVIDENCE RI-SOUTHEAST PROVIDENCE RI-WESTERN KENT RI- EASTERN KENT RI-BRISTOL RI-WASHINGTON RI-NEWPORT RI- BLOCK ISLAND RI- INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...GLOUCESTER...FOXBORO...NORWOOD... ...BLIZZARD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON...

SNOW WILL BEGIN ON THE SOUTH COAST AND ISLANDS BETWEEN 8 PM AND 11 PM TONIGHT...AND SHOULD REACH THE INTERSTATE 95 CORRIDOR BETWEEN 10 PM TONIGHT AND 1 AM SUNDAY. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL FALL OVERNIGHT INTO EARLY SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS WILL RANGE FROM 6 TO 10 INCHES ON NANTUCKET AND BLOCK ISLAND...TO BETWEEN 8 AND 15 INCHES ELSEWHERE. THE 15 INCH TOTALS ARE MOST LIKELY TO OCCUR FROM PROVIDENCE AND BOSTON TO THE SOUTH COAST.

DURING THE HEIGHT OF THE STORM SUNDAY...BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE WITH SNOWFALL RATES NEAR 3 INCHES PER HOUR. NORTHEAST WINDS GUSTING AS HIGH AS 50 MPH MAY PRODUCE WHITE OUT CONDITIONS WITH NEAR ZERO VISIBILITY. ON THE SOUTH COAST...CAPE COD AND THE ISLANDS WIND GUSTS MAY REACH 60 MPH.

THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS AND LIFE THREATENING SITUATION. PLAN TO HAVE TRAVEL COMPLETED BY EARLY THIS EVENING. TRAVEL DURING THE HEIGHT OF THE STORM WILL BE SERIOUSLY IMPACTED BY THE COMBINATION OF POOR VISIBILITY AND SNOW COVERED ROADS.

We're gonna get slammed!!!!

burlington here we are expecting alot
DH just went to get some more food and stuff
i am working tonight im sure the grocery store is gonna be packed

Bring it on    You can see all the Rhode Island residents scurrying to get their bread and milk today! Beware of the markets. Tomorrow will be a movie and PJ day.

You all didn't have to send the darn storm my way, we haven't had any snow all winter, I wake up this morning and can't find my car!!!! You didn't have to share!!!! :lmao:

Just came from the grocery store, it was packed!!! I also went to Target in Taunton, MA and they were having a huge sled clearance. I bought a few of the saucer types for $2.48. They also had Boogie Boards for $4.98 and snow boards for $6.48. I am glad to be getting some snow, i have really wanted to take my kids tubing this winter. Anyone know any good places near Southern Ma? I am 20 minutes from Prov. and 45 from Boston.
