What do you think my chances are of watching the finals on Saturday 4/6 @7:30 in the ESPN club? The game is on ESPN

If the game is on ESPN, then they should most definitely show it. They get the ESPN and ABC feeds pretty much for the entire trip (they sometimes lose the signal when out to sea). They do not get the network feeds for the other networks (CBS, FOX, NBC).

Go U Maine Black Bears!

bhurley-
I have to admit your question made me laugh out loud!

I am the mom of a hockey obsessed family, our only family trips have been to hockey rinks or camps and I have spent the last 5 years supporting 2 sons who play and husband who coaches.

I have been joking for months now that this is going to be a HOCKEY-FREE vacation.

We are on the same cruise so maybe we'll see each other....I'll be the one dragging my family away from the tv!

Well Señor Ferrari and MikeBW I am sorry to say that neither team has a chance against UNH. Go Wildcats

I will keep my eye out for you and your family. My wife and I are going without the kids. They are too old or too cool to be seen with us. Take care and see you on board Bill

I wouldn't count on seeing it. The ESPN SkyBox has a problem getting feed at sea, and they have problems with licensing major sports programming even from networks owned by Disney (ABC and ESPN). Several key sports events more important than the one you mentioned have not been aired onboard. You may have to listen to the webcast from the Internet Cafe.

If you'll be on the Magic, you should be OK. Since the game is on Saturday night, then the ship should be able to get the ESPN feed. The feed does get lost sometimes, but that early in the cruise, you should still be able to see it. The feed generally gets lost when the ship is far out to sea, usually for part of Monday and Thursday.

I'm not sure if the Wonder ever loses the feed....

Don't assume that they won't be able to get the game. On our January cruise, they found the Sunday Steelers/Ravens playoff game at 12:30. The DCL book says the Magic loses TV satelite feeds beginning Sunday around noon for a 24hr period. The crew tuned in a South American ESPN feed that had the CBS network feed. Of course, there were lots of people who wanted to see it but if you can gather a crowd, they'll probably work hard to tune it in. Watching the Steelers win on board was fun - too bad the Patriots spoiled our fun next week but I was rooting for them in the Super Bowl. The college hockey playoffs are always great. Looks like the pro hockey season in Pittsburgh is coming to a rapid end.

What do you mean there will be hockey finals during our 4/6 cruise?!!

My (sports broadcaster) dh promised me this would be a sports free "anniversary" vacation. I figured I was safe since it's not football season or baseball season, too early for the NBA playoffs, but I didn't take hockey into consideration. And finals at that - Ughh!

Sorry guys, but reading that post just scared me a little. Feel much better now that I've vented.

Looks like I'll be seeing the rest of you Saturday night at the ESPN Skybox. ;)

I am the wife of the guy who asked about that Hockey game, I happened to go online and saw that he asked that question, I can't say I was overjoyed to think that Saturday night might be spent watching Hockey in the ESPN club. Hey maybe us girls should ditch those guys and go to the clubs!

Hey Girls, Compromise! You go watch the game with the guys and then make them do the Surial Bath or something in the spa!
Better yet make them get a manicure! ha ha!
sorry guys I couldnt resist. Have fun on your cruise.

Go University of New Hampshire! ( UNH )

state motto: "Live Free or Die":D

bhurley,

Just wondering if you caught todays game.

Forgive me the indulgence, I couldn't resist....

bhurley,

Sadly, I'm also a Flyers fan, so all is not well in my hockey world! But having lived in New England for 6+ years, I have a soft spot in my heart for the Bruins, too....

I hope you have a great cruise.
