At this moment yes that’s what is planned but they are waiting on today’s test results from the Cards. If they get more positives that won’t happen. Right now it’s two players. Brewers are practicing at Miller Park at this moment.Cards/Brewers are playing tomorrow, and 2 games on Sunday.
MLB- They will play as they can, depending on disease status. Hopefully we'll get some games played.Cards/Brewers are playing tomorrow, and 2 games on Sunday.
Marlins will make their games up in August now that the 7 inning double headers are approved.
With the NFL, you’re talking 2,500 moving pieces. That’s a lot of kids to babysit in a bubble. I just don’t think players would approve a bubble. NBA, NHL, MLB are pretty much every day sports. For the most part the NFL you have 6 days off a week. Who wants to be in charge of making sure the NFL players aren’t sneaking out of the bubble on off days?

This is the kind of plan I have heard bandied about some places. And if they had a delayed start to the season to get everything in place, I think Disney could work as one of the bubble sites by taking over the NBA spots. The Bills already had to send rookies home from the first week of camp this week because of positive tests. The outbreaks in the NFL will dwarf what we are seeing in the MLB without some kind of bubbling just because of the nature of the sport.NFL could totally do a bubble...and should...but in a different way than the NBA...
They should have 4 bubble sites with 2 divisions at each site. They could play a 10 game season (2 games each against own division and 1 each against the other one). Then, at the playoffs, they bring teams into existing bubbles by conference and re quarantine (so a bye week)...and then do the same for the super bowl (so another bye week).
Easy peasy...most likely way to actually get a season in (see MLS and NBA vs MLB right now - and the 1st 2 sports have way more contact)...and you could help 4 big tourist cities, not 1.
I'd imagine NYC, Las Vegas, FL (lots of options - pick a city) and TX (same) could be the 4 sites...games played Saturday night, Sun afternoon, Sun evening, Mon evening at each site...

Cards/Brewers now postponed...

Marlins won't play this season - their whole team is out. Playing a AAA team would be unfair to all those teams who don't get to play them, since there's no way they will be competitive.
And if the Cards or Phils follow this path, now you have multiple teams gone in the FIRST 10 days of the season...I mean, that's not sustainable...
I REALLY need some football this Fall. I am not a basketball fan (can't stand the squeaking shoes) although I am really enjoying all the bubble videos and find them super entertaining. If it takes a bubble or two to make football happen, then they need to "make it happening" (for any Tony Beets Gold Rush fans out there...)
Maybe even just two bubbles--make it Vegas and WDW. It's doable if the will is there. The mess that is MLB right now should be a HUGE eye opener for NFL.
Vegas is too dangerous. What’s the point of the bubble if you have casino’s and night clubs that would absolutely draw players out of the bubble? Even if its just 1, thats 1 too many if you’re using a bubble.
There’s no football stadium at WDW. They’d have to drive to Tampa. And thats only 1 football stadium. I doubt they’d be able to use UCF’s field since college football sounds like theyre going to move forward with their season. And still, even if they could use that field, its still only 1 field. The reason the NBA bubble works is because of the amount of courts they have at WWoS
It’s also too late to plan a bubble for the NFL. We saw how long it took for the NBA to make an official decision. And thats with just 8 games + the playoffs. They would have had to make a decision probably a month ago if they wanted a bubble
They are all adults and they have incredible drive as professional athletes. They can make the sacrifice and stay in a bubble. If not, then they will pay the consequences. Besides, I am sure they would have lots more entertainment options in Vegas at the ready. Vegas is hurting badly and I am sure they could use the NFL revenue and would jump at the chance to accommodate.
I am sure they could also find football stadiums for Orlando. With no fans in attendance there's no need to worry about capacity issues. They just need the fields to be compliant, right?

Soccer fields are the same length and a bit wider than football fields. Many stadiums host both sports. Given there is soccer being played at Disney right now, I’m pretty sure they could make football fields.
Push the season back, especially if they went to a shorter schedule. And even if they didn't go shorter, going into February/early March if they were someplace warmer like Orlando, would work.Vegas is too dangerous. They could use a field or 2 at WDW, and then push to use the UCF field, the old Citrus Bowl (if it still exists) and they could also cut a deal with the MLS team to use their stadium. I think if anything has come out of the 2 bubbles, is if there is a will, there is a way.
Yeah there are 17 soccer/football fields at ESPN. Some even have football yardage lines already painted on them full time.Exactly this...and MLS will be done by mid-August...so they could convert the fields for a September start if the will is there...
