Hello all,
I have a 7 day Eastern cruise booked with a large porthole. I was wondering if anyone has had the navigator's verandah and if the views were good and if it is worth the extra money? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Hi there, Sherry. I am also booked on a 7-day Eastern Caribbean this December. Our stateroom # is 7622(Navigator's verendah). I was also wondering what they are like?

Our first cruise (3 day) we had cat #9 Large port hole window, and love it, then we book a cat #7 for the 7 day and it was GREAT
It was real windy on the upper decks, but when on the Navigator Verandah you cound not feel any of the wind, but still had the fresh air, after that we were hook, and on our 3 cruise we went a cat#7 again.

To me it's worth the few $$ more.

We had the #7622 on our last cruise and booked #7624 for our next (7622 wasn't available).
The Navigator's Verandah is great, because you can sit outside, but are wonderfully protected against the wind - Especially when the ship is underway. At cruising speed there is a 21-knot-wind (24mph), but it doesn't bother you on the Navigator's Verandah.

I have photos of the navigators verandah on my website at www.castawayclub.com
We've had one once, and we really enjoyed it. Very cozy! I also like the fact that they are located aft, as that is my favorite part of the ship (close to restaurants, and the aft elevators are typically not crowded). I wouldn't hesitate to book one. Alternately, I have details on the verandahs that are classified as Cat. 7 but that have plexiglass verandahs with a slightly obstructed view.

i think so we love the verandah thing and feel that cat 7 would be worth the extra money for it we had room service deliver coffee and danish each morning was wonderful to be able tohang there some times also look into the recently downgraded staterooms they have a partially obstructed verandah Barb has the pictures and room #s at her site www.castawayclub.com we had room 7620 witch was well worth the money .......only a small corner obstructed and u get the regular verandah obstruction is because of the ship design
NOT a big Deal peter

Hi all,
I had 2 cat. 7's (6140 and 6142 connecting) booked the 2/8 eastern. I expected the rooms to be somewhat dark, but was surprised at how large the portholes were and how comfy the verandah was. The privacy is nice and the protection from the elements while sailing is a plus if you just want to hang out and relax. One of our traveling friends does not sleep well at night , so he was able to just sit out there and not disturb his wife. I also stored a large piece of luggage out there and it was fine the whole trip. All being said, my only issue is the motion we felt being aft...the wind and seas really determine how smooth the ride will be. I'm not prone to motion sickness, but this trip I felt it when settling in for the night.

We have never tried any other rooms OTHER than Catagory 7's. We had one on our first trip and loved the Navigator's Verandah so much that we have gotten it ever since!

We have realized, sadly, that since they only sleep three, we will have to seriously consider having more children because if we did, we'd have to get a new stateroom catagory! *laugh*
