Could anyone just off a cruise, in particular the Fantasy, give their experience using the app for texting. I know that at first some people said there were dead spots on ship and others said there was no notification that you had an incoming message, you just had to keep checking. Are these still issues?

On the Dream 3 weeks ago no issues with dead spots and we all got push notifications of incoming texts, that was a pleasant surprise.

I used it quite a bit on our Feb 20 cruise on the Fantasy. Definitely a little frustrating. No predictive text or anything, for starters. But also we had trouble with notifications coming through. I found that you had to keep the app actively running to get them, and even then sometimes there were delays.

Well, I guess it's just hit or miss. I'd like to just carry my iPhone with me rather than wave phone. I was hoping kinks had been worked out. We'll give it a try, though. Thank you for info!

DH and I tried the texting and he got one of mine hours later than when I sent it. Hoping next time it will work better as my teen will be with us then and he wont want to lug a wave phone around
