Navigating the My Disney Experience (MDE) Web Site and App

No, the whole reservation site is down today until around 2 pm. People over on the Restaurant Boards who were up at 6 am for their 180 + 10 are preparing a mutiny right now. (Especially those on the West Coast who just didn't go to bed last night)

This outage is affecting the new site, the old site, the TA site and the phones. I can only assume MDE is effected too.

Oh I feel so bad for those people! How frustrating!
 
I also have had some problems loging in this morning. It seems to be working for me right now, though. (I should add I'm not using reservations, since I have none to work with.)

But now a funny little behavior concerning this...

So there's a new iOS app version available this morning. 1.3.4. Not for Android??? I don't see a lot different, but I was finally able to delete a friend profile from my Family and Friends section. Previously, it told me I had to remove that person from reservations before deleting her, even though those reservations were in the past.

I've tried to do the same on the website where I had the same problem, but so far this morning I'm not able to access my profile page.

Now that I'm able to see my website profile, I notice that the friend I deleted from the phone still shows up on the website. When I delete a friend from the website, I no longer get the message that I can't do it because of reservations, but it doesn't remove him from my profile... on the website. It does remove him from my profile view on the iPhone app. So I can delete whoever I want using either website or app. But regardless of how I do it, those changes are only reflected on the app, not the website.

The thick plottens!
 
Downloaded the update last night. Now my reservations for all of my ADR's in June show "Reservation for 5 people instead of 4". I checked the website and it still shows the correct number of 4 people for my June ADR's. .
 

I'm a bit surprised that Disney just doesn't have identified WiFi hot spots throughout the parks. Seems a lot easier than promising parkwide WiFi.

could you imagine 1000+ guests all crammed into one area trying to access a single access point which already has limited bandwidth? it would be completely unusable instead of almost unusable as it is sometimes.

So I just updated my app too.....

Still does NOT show the parks under my itinerary. Only if I clicked on a parade or ride. If I just clicked on that park as the park for the day.... does not show on my phone app.... but does show on my computer.

I find it annoying to now have to log in every time just to look at wait times.

I have not checked (because I wish not to get frustrated) if our resort res. n tickets are linked to ADRs.

I've looked into the EasyWDW wait times and lo and behold.. One click, there are MK attractions which can be sorted by land, wait times, alphabetically.

Hmmm much easier and no frustration:thumbsup2
 
It finally has my whole family correct under my reservation! Up until now it has had my DD12 twice and DD16 nowhere!
 
I really hope they can figure out the app and link it properly soon. It's annoying when I look at the app and it has my DW listed twice and my DD is missing from the reservation. Everything is correct on the website, but I can't get to it this morning. Being in Canada I have the old website still which I hear is a blessing anyways.

15.14mb.. thats a large sized app for something that is nothing more than a glorified web browser.

other than the no fastpass + button - seems to be the same. Cant say its any faster or slower. All my reservations were there.
 
I figured My Disney Experience is having issues reconciling reservation information, but today I decided to call to confirm.

My resort reservation email and invoice from the Walt Disney Travel Company are correct with my package, dates, and guests.

But when signing into My Disney Experience, the web site doesn't have the guests listed correctly. For mine, it lists myself once, and then my wife twice, once as a adult and once a child. My child's name is not listed as the child guest.

I called WDW and the CM acknowledged the new site is having issues with the guest listing. She used her internal system to confirm all the reservation details, which were still correct.
 
I'm at the Magic Kingdom now sitting on the porch by Hall of Presidents waiting for the parade. I has been here for 30 minutes (enjoying my Dole Whip) & the wifi is on one minute and off the next. I can't help but think that the inconsistent wifi service may play into the efficiency of using the app. I have tried to use it in and off all day, but with the wifi going on & off, and then the app is so slow to load, it's just not worth it. I brought my iPad just so I wouldn't be draining my phone battery, but with the wifi issues it is hardly useable.

I have a question and I apologize if it's already been answered in the thread. I was manually entering my reservation on the app and I screwed up. It lists my daughter as the person with the reservation and myself as one of the people attending. How do I change it? I can't seem to edit it now.

Thanks! I'm such a novice when it comes to my iphone!

I'd expect you'll need to call to modify or verify your reservation (407-WDW-MAGIC).

My experience is the app and web site cannot even get the guest listings to match correct reservations. It may also be that your reservation is correct but the resulting display in the app is wrong.

And they didn't even store the images on the app like we're doing with our new app. Every time you click something it reloads ALL the data and photos. The load to begin their app is about 4 seconds faster, but the reason it takes forever is auto location that one cannot disable.
 
I apologize if this has been asked and answered already. Perhaps someone can direct me to the correct post number to check...

What exactly is the part for adding tickets? Is it to purchase tickets through them and en they show up on the app or website?

I bought our tickets through UT, and would like to get them on here with all our other info, but not sure how to do that. Thanks!
