Navigating the My Disney Experience (MDE) Web Site and App

Hi all.
I want to make sure I am doing all of this correctly.

I have my app and web site correct. It shows my ADRs and my ressie.
Yesterday, I wanted to add my inlaws that have their own ressie number.
I put in their reservation number but was told first I had to be their friend or something like that.
So, I made them my friend and I see them. Is it correct that I should NOT invite them for anything since I want to be in control of their ressie.

The reason I am also asking is I have a group of also 11 boys in 4 hotel rooms that I am the group leader for and want to also have control of their ressie.
Yesterday, I was given their room reservation numbers so I can add them, I think, if I want since I am the group contact person.

I am leaving on March 22 so my 60 days is coming up.

I think you would need to invite them. They should create a MDE account and accept your invitation. Then you can see their arrangements but not control them. They can see your arrangements but not control them. You can each make new arrangements for the other such as adrs.

This is how I ***think*** it works.
 
Just read your post again and maybe I misunderstood. If you want to control everything then you shouldn't need to invite anyone.

What I'm not sure is how this works for the hotel ressie. Can you add someone else's to your account? I don't know.

My inlaws reservation was for hotel. Do you mean their park tickets? They wont have them until they arrive since they come with the group booking. Do yiu think I would add them then. It would be the same for all the ti kets for the boys. How would I be able to order the fp+ if I dont have the tickets yet?

I wasn't talking about park tickets because we can't virtualize those yet. We don't know how tickets are going to work yet. Stay tuned.
 
Interesting note. The DVC web site changes are up. It looks like the app and my Disney experience web page. There isn't any connections to Friends yet or FP+ talk. But all three of my accounts (mde web site, app, and dvc) are "speaking" to each other.
 
I am from the UK and I know that the website is unavailable to me at the moment. I have the app on my Ipad and,although some of the things seem to have loaded well onto it, I am having some frustrations. I wonder if anyone can help with anything???
I have a friends list which includes my family and three friends. I am in control of everything for this whole party for our June trip. We have two rooms booked at CBR,and, although both reservations show up, our room lists my son twice and my friend (who is staying in the room with us) seems to be completely missing. I am certain I entered everybody correctly. Any ideas how to fix it?
Another problem is tickets (booked with the package) show up for our two friends (who are in a separate room) and for me and my friend in our room, but not my husband or son.
The third problem is that our DDP shows up but seems to suggest with have quick service and children's dining plans booked when everybody in our party has the standard adult DDP booked. Everything was booked together as a package.
Another (minor irritation) is that I cannot seem to change my profile character. I have managed to change everybody else in our friends group, but every time I try to change mine, the 'we have run into an unexpected error' appears. This has been the case for days!!!:sad2:
I see people are talking about a 'more' button. Is this just on the website, as I can't seem to find it on the Ipad app??

I can't help with many of your issues, but suggest that if you have other paperwork or evidence that your package was booked correctly, then I would try not to worry too much about what the app says. I think it's clear that the website and apps are still works in progress. If you need to make a phone call the verify with a human that all is well, it might be worth it.

Concerning the iPad app in particular, I looked at the iPad version for the fist time today. It appears to have a few differences from the iPhone app. So I might try to add something to the first post as I look more into it. You're right I don't see a "More" button, but that seems to be because they can fit all the options on one page. The iPhone app has that button because there are too many of those options to fit on the little screen.

I can report that I was able to use the iPad app to change my own profile character twice today.
 
Is there a way too see the remaining balance you have left, or to redeem a gift card toward your balance at least?
 
Today my room ressie hit 59 days on the countdown ticker. Today I was given the link for online check-in.

It was rather simple... verify all the regular information... add a mobile phone to receive a text when your room is ready... add any room requests. This last part must be dependent on the resort. For Beach Club Villas, I was offered to select 2 out of 4 options: Near Elevator, Lower Floor, Woods View, or Larger Balcony.

Edit: I wanted to add that there was no sign of anything about MyMagic+, FastPass+, MagicBands, etc. It still said I would receive a KTTW card.

One other development I've noticed this morning... There is no longer a counter for virtual tickets or fastpasses on my family's profile pages.

I wanted to say that I looked more closely at the Online Check-in Terms and Conditions today, and found there is a reference to MagicBands...

...the check-in process shall become complete in Florida upon showing my photo identification, and receipt of a Key to the World card or by entering my room utilizing my authorized MagicBand.
 
Ok, help me figure out where I saw the spot that shows what tickets are associated with each person. I've been on the website, and have the app for the iphone and ipad. I KNOW at some point I definitely saw a screen that showed a 6 day ticket for me and the kids and a 5 day ticket for my DH (which is indeed what we've purchased). But now, I can't seem to find it anywhere again. Suggestions?

I can see that I have tickets on the iPad app. It doesn't appear on the iPhone app or the website. And my name is the only one on the tickets without any option to add anyone's name.
I can't see anywhere on the website that lists my tickets.

The following Terms & Conditions apply to the Online Check-In Service and your stay as a Guest at the Walt Disney World® Resort.

I understand the Online Check-In Service is a convenience to Guests at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and the check-in process shall become complete in Florida upon showing my photo identification, and receipt of a Key to the World card or by entering my room utilizing my authorized MagicBand.

I am 18 years of age or older and confirm that the information I provide in connection with this Online Check-In Service is accurate. I understand that if I begin check in via this Online Check-In Service, and later make a modification to my reservation (including changing my arrival/departure dates, Resort hotel, room category or party mix); I must return to the Online Check-In Service to update my reservation information. If I choose not to update my check-in information through this Online Check-In Service, I must proceed with standard resort check-in upon arrival.

If I pay by credit card, I understand that acceptance is subject to approval by the issuing organization; that information necessary to charge my credit card account will appear on my itemized folio(s) and be transmitted electronically without further approval from me and that my personal liability for this account is not waived if another person, company or association is billed but fails to pay.

So was using my iphone to add birth dates to my friends and family list on MDE. When I got to daughter in law it locked on todays date and would not let me change it. FAQ said that birth dates cannot be changed on line and listed a number to call. The not very confident sounding tech person told me that to reset the birthdate I would have to delete dil from friends and family list. Then recreate her with the correct date, but.... first I would have to delete her from any reservations she was listed on. So tried to send an email to member services but that part of the dvc website was not working so had to call dvc member services, remove dil from reservations, go back to MDE remove her from list, recreate her on list, add correct birthdate and then call member services back to put her back on reservations.

There has got to be an easier way to do this. Thank goodness we are not going until Dec and hopefully this app will have most of the kinks worked out!

The linking of friends and family is maddening! They have to fix that. Klunky at best. I can't even get my immediate family linked up. And I need that windows app.
