I have just a few questions about getting around the CR for all you experts out there.

When arriving by boat to CR from WL, how do you get to Chef Mickey's? What floor is Chef Mickey's on?

How long is the walk from the CR monorail station to the MK? On the flip side, is it a pleasant walk from MK to the CR?

How late do the boats to WL from CR run?

I have only seen pictures of the CR and have not ever been there. Is it as huge as it seems?

Thanks for your help,
penny

Penny,

When you arrive on the boat dock from WL, you will enter through the back doors of the Main Tower building. You will see a set of escalators right there, go up two flights and you will be on the Grand Concourse (4th floor). Chef Mickeys and the Concourse Steakhouse are off to your left and the shops are off to your right. You will see another small escalator that leads you up to the monorail loading area. It sounds long, but it's not- only a minute from boat dock to monorail.

You don't actually walk from the monorail station to MK, you walk on a pathway from the lobby out by the North Garden Wing- it's pretty well marked, and about a 5-10 minute walk, depending on your pace. I've never walked from MK to the CR, because there is almost never a line at the Resort Monorail when we go, and CR is the first stop from the MK. My kids are always beat after doing the parks, and they love the monorail spiel!

I'm not sure when the boats stop running - I would guess it depends on the time of year and hours, but I'm guessing around 10pm so that they can accomodate later diners. We took a boat back to the CR from Ft. Wilderness after the Hoop De Doo Revue at about 9:30 or so in March.

The CR looks huge, but it is actually fairly compact, everything is easily accessible. I think the only things that would be a hike would be the lagoon view rooms at the far end of the wings. The Food N fun center is a short hop down from the lobby, then there are the two quick escalator rides up to the Concourse. You could take the elevator of course, but I think that would actually take longer, although you should definitely ride it up to the 15th floor and take a look off of the observation decks - one on either side of California Grill restaurants. My kids love listening to the Elevator messages.

Hi, the walk to MK is under 10 min. It's a walk-way paved with the bricks that Disney sells. It's a nice walk. I've read on these boards about the "busy street" that you cross. We have walked to MK at least 6 times and there is a light at that street, so like any other street, you wait for the light to change and it's fine. It was never that busy when we were there anyway. It's a nice walk with some topiary shrubs along the way also.

It can be shorter than taking the monorail, which I timed one day: from CR to MK was 20 min. (it stops at TTC, Poly, GF and then MK). On way back from MK, CR is first. Don't remember if we ever walked back either.

One day, after doing the parks, my DH took my kids to the pool and I walked over to MK. I shopped my way around the park. Since it's such a short walk, I was gone maybe 2 hrs. while they were swimming.

The CR also has a great arcade. My one DD bugged us the whole time about going to the arcade.

It is a compact resort and very easy to figure out.

after you get off the boat go through doors to lobby of CR you can either go up escalater or elevater to 4th floor where Chef Mickeys is. If you want to walk to MK it is only about 10 minutes and its a nice walk because the monorail can be kind of slow.
