I am going to book some attraction tickets through undercover tourist, I was just about to complete the order when I vaguely remembered quite a while back some changes with the charges made by Nationwide.

I may have just lost my marbles completely and be making it up in my head!

Can anyone tell me if I will be charged by nationwide for making a transaction in $ or will it just be the exchange rate of the day? (I have checked there website but I couldnt understand it.)

Cheers!

There will be a charge of 1% of whatever the tickets cost. It is actually a fee that VISA charge Nationwide but Nationwide now pass it on to the customer rather than swallowing it.

Nationwide is still good at 1% compared to majority that charge about 3% but there are still a couple with no fees, Post office & Abbey Zero. Not sure if there are any others left now.

Nationwide did start to make a small charge, we swapped to the PO and Abbey then.

I just wanted to say that Undercover Tourist were fab when we ordered from them a couple of weeks ago, tickets took 5 days or so to arrive and from Edinburgh!! ;) I was quite shocked that I didn't have to sign for them though.

We also used our Post Office Credit Card as well as offering no charge they had the best excahnge rate at the time - you can check this on MOney Saving Expert.com

Thank you! I only have 1 other credit card so will try and find out if they charge if not I guess will have to just swallow the charge. Will have a look at other credit cards for next holiday.
Thanks again.
