I booked a full size car from National a couple months before out trip (4 days). $197 w/taxes. A couple weeks ago, I got on Mousesavers and found some code combinations that knocked it down to $130. A couple days before the trip, I joined the emerald club, and had to make the reservation again so my "status" and rate ($130) is matched together. I cancel all the old reservations, so I only have the $130.
We get to MCO, get our luggage, and go right to the garage for our car (a HUGE benefit of joining the emerald club, which is free). We ask a employee where the 'Executive Reserve' aisle is, and he points to two rows. We pick out a Ford Flex to take advantage of the 3rd row of seats (5 of us).
We go to leave, hand the checkout lady the paperwork (showing the $130 rate), she does her thing, gives us a receipt and we head out. At a red light, I check the receipt she gave us and it was for $197!
The next morning (Sunday), I look closer and the receipt has the old reservation number on it. I call National and explain. They work and say they got the price down to $112!
We'll see if that holds true. lol
