National rates not dropping?

I've been booked for months for Exec Aisle on National, but continually recheck to see if its dropped, as it has for every other trip. I'm now 97 days out and the price went up a bit and now is the exact same price  I've cleared my browser and cookies...no luck. Any ideas on how/why it would stay the same? Seems like it should have moved a bit by now.....I even bought the new Entertainment book to try and catch "new" availability with no luck. I have a Mid-SUV booked at Budget as well for more than $100 less and am struggling with the convenience of the the aisle v. price/gamble...is anyone getting a good rate in Dec yet? TIA!

If you look at the September rate thread, you will see that our National (and Alamo) rates didn't start to drop in earnest until less than one month out.

Patience my friend....

And when we traveled last December, our National rate didn't change until something like 11 days out.

Thanks much....I'll take a deep breath......:goodvibes
Me Too. We need a 4 day or 5 day rental with pick up at CCC or Dolphin. Renting 9/28 for 5 days, or 9/29 for 4 days.
National 5 day midsize $159.27, 4 day midsize $120.46, I'll wait for a better deal I hope.

Have you tried Club memberships like BJ's or Sam's club? I just got a discount and two class upgrate for National at CCC. Decided to rent a car for the last half of our trip for early morning dining at resorts and for the convenience of last day. We can pack up, leave luggage in the car and go to the parks! Anyone else try this? Things we should be aware of?

National has done a very good job of keeping rates high until the very last minute. For more popular travel dates, they will not be discounted much at all. They have a much smaller fleet in Orlando than in years past, and they have a loyal following (of mostly business travelers) who will book with them even if they are more expensive.
