National Rates Dropped for May

I've been watching the rates for May and noticed last night that they finally started to head downward. Lets hope they continue. My friend's rate dropped from $228 to $189, intermediate for one week. May visitors need to check their rates.

I used the code 5042947 and $25 coupon (nd6102njc)

My rate for April 29-May 11 dropped again this morning. Using the code 5042947 and $25 coupon, my rate dropped another $15. It was $343 and is now $328. This is EA (intermediate size car).

Others should recheck.

UPDATES: This rate is now only $313, so another $15 drop. Also my rates for my August and October trips have also dropped. My October rate dropped $50. Time to recheck your rates.

Can someone tell me what "Code 5042947" refers to please. Do you need to use a specific credit card, is it associated with a frequent flyer program, is it a specific organization, or what.

I tried that code and it said it was not good. The best I still have found is with dollar using the KISS code. We are going May 27 - June 5.

it is from the website vacationoutlet. I've used it before with no problem and the website seems to be a public website. You can click on national right there and it will pull up this code, plus some of their coupons.

What I would like to use is the $40 coupon floating around. It is nd1982fmq. But because I can't find the link anywhere, I am not brave enough to use it. Some folks say it's an internet coupon and you don't have to have the paper copy, but I am not willing to take the chance.

I phoned National about the $40 off code, and he said that I do not need a paper copy of this as it is an internet based coupon. I also emailed them and when I get their reply I am going to print it and have the person I booked for bring it with them, just to be on the safe side.

I emailed National Emerald Club about the $40 coupon hoping to do exactly the same thing...keep a hard copy of the reply.....have not heard anything other than the automated response saying they receieved my email and will contact me within 24 hours...that was on Tuesday.

I emailed them too. I would like to have something in my hand, just in case.
My rate went from $189. to $172. using the code.
That's for 8 days.

I got my email back from them!! It is totally fine to use the coupon without the printout!
here is the email.

Thank you for your email. The coupon code is an electronic code. As long
as it is attached to the reservation, you will not need a copy of the coupon
when you pick up the reservation.

We got the same email this afternoon. Yay! Saved $40 dollars! I printed a copy to keep with my reservation.

I was not as lucky.
The person that answered my email said that internet coupon has expired.
The new $40. coupon that came in the email is giving me a higher rate.

My reply from National said that the first $40 coupon(from Flyer Talk) was an internet coupon and all right to use with no hard copy, no word about when it expired, my trip dates are 4/30-5/11. When I got the new Emerald Club via my email I switched to that, just felt more comfortable knowing what the perimeters were. Did you try your dates with the $40.00 EC coupon and the AAA discount? That is what has given me the best rate and it was the same with both coupons. Good Luck!!
