National Rates down (9/15) Update: Down again 9/16

It's best to make a new reservation each time the price lowers, and then go back and cancel the higher one. Last year I lost a great rate, but trying to check prices on an existing ressie.
DH and I are taking ME from MCO to CSR. We are renting a car later in the evening on our arrival day at the CCC (timed to coordinate with our flight back home). This way we save one full day's rental charge and, we will be returning the car to MCO. The Entertainment coupon remains the same, but the priceless code doesn't seem to be as good as the AMEX code (5125601) at the CCC location. For 11 days the best rate I can get so far is $168.69 (total) for intermediate.

He waited in line for 1 hr. 15 min. while every other rental counter (including National) had very few people at the counter. I think maybe because Alamo is the official rental company of Disney that's maybe who they use for all packages not using ME....don't really know why.......our last visit was about 10 days after ME had started so a lot of people weren't even using the rental counters.....at least those staying onsite. We're going with National this time and I plan to join Emerald Club so we can bypass counter completely.

FYI...My rate has gone down again today (and by about 50 cents yesterday).

When I first posted here it was $79 and today it is $75.

My reservation is for Sept 29 PM through Oct 3 PM.

ACK. that's not what I want to hear about the Alamo counter...although I can't say I'm surprised. I've read similar accounts all over the internet.

We are picking up a van at 9:00AM on a Friday morning, I wonder what difference that will make.

My national EA rate was lower the other day than it is today...I'm down to $129.xx for the week. My minivan rate with Alamo is $129.xx

I did and found it somewhat less expensive. However, I am a member of the emerald club and love the fact that I can bypass the counter and go directly to my car. Can I do that with Alamo???

Oh and I forgot to mention that one thing I like about the new website is you can see you current itineraries (reservations) so it's easy to see what you have canceled and not canceled.

My 5-day reservation just dropped almost $10 to $85!!!

I am so very happy that the site glitch was taken care of and I was able to rebook my minivan at $140 because it is well over $200, now!

At the top of the page on the right hand side there's a box that tells you it's free to join. Click on it and fill in your info - saves you $50.

If that doesn't work, go to Mary's site: mousesaver.com and under rental cars - National there's also another way to join for free.

Our trips in December but i went and checked the rates anyway. The price for our dates has more than doubled (204 to 528). I sure am glad I booked when I did.

I am in the black hole for resort discounts and the latest quote for a car rental is over $300 (10 days with the priceless code and ent. coupon - pickup October 7).

I am SO GLAD that I made the initial reservation for next week in MARCH. That quote is only $158.00 for 10 days.

did it go back down tonight? The minivan rate shot up in the last day or so. I checked my dates (9/30-10/7) earlier and the base rate was $265....it was a pretty significant jump. I was disappointed, I'd gotten used to seeing the numbers getting lower, LOLOL

I did! I now have a mini van booked thru Emerald Reserve for $142.00. Sounds a lot better than the original 256.00. Thanks!
