National Or Dollars

We have a minivan reserved for both National and Dollars. I was so proud of myself that I can get a really good rate from Dollars (25X.XX for 10 days). National is 63 dollars more. DH wants to use National instead. I'm so upset. 63 dollars can buy many things but he said it's a 3 ways split. he likes the convenience of National. Help me get over with this.

I'd pay $63 more to go with National - especially if you are a member of the Emerald Club. It is truly wonderful to be able to go right to the garage (no stopping at a counter or waiting in line), select the minvan yourself and then drive to the exit booth to check out. Quick & easy!

Do consider your time. How would you feel if there happens to be a 1/2 hour (or longer) line at the Dollar counter? If you don't like the minivan they give you?

Yes, $63 can buy ither things, but vacation time is very precious, too and I hate spending it in lines! (unless they end in a ride on one of my favorite attractions, LOL) !!

Also, keep checking on those rates. They do go down when you least expect it. If you do go with Dollar, sign up for their free fastlane membership. You go to a special line and get first access to the agent. I did this a couple of years ago with my DH and stepson in tow. They couldn't believe how I was able to bypass the regular line and be the first waited on in the fastlane line. Total - 5 minutes. But, alas, I too hate any kind of lines, so I am going with National this year (they're cheaper, too)
