National Lampoon's Fun w/Dis Friends 2010!! ~ DAY 7-Final :( 6/27

I think it's DJay and my goal next time to get DS to hang out with us so you and DH can ride a ride together...It may help to have Erin and Dylan around....
:rotfl2: Good luck with that!! I've scared him enough about stranger danger that he most likely will not. But even if that worked, it would be hard for mama to let go that much too. ;)

It's really not a big deal. He is getting bigger and starting to ride more rides. It's not too bad having to take turns. It was just nice to get to ride with friends this trip. :thumbsup2

Yay! An update! :cool1:

I can't believe that lady said that?? :confused3 There was just no reason to since you guys were getting up anyway. Some people. :sad2:

What thoughtful gifts you all handed out. Love the kilt koozie! :rotfl:

Yeah, she really had no reason. Oh well. We ended up with good stuff anyway. :thumbsup2

kilt koozie cracked me up!

What was the deal with that woman on Soarin'? :confused3 I don't see why she felt the need to comment at all. People!

Thanks for this picture:
4371640418_8402e40737.jpg

so we can see Jordan's food porn technique.

Oh, meant to add...I liked the gifts, particularly the kilt koozie.

Glad to hear good reviews for The Wave. We have a reservation there in June (date night!).

Yeah she had no reason but still felt the need. I guess she was just nervous or something. Who knows. :confused3
:rotfl2: his "technique".
Yeah the kilt koozie is cool! I never did get to see it on a drink though. ;)
The Wave was good. I would definitely go there again. This time I'll order something different, though.

It was much easier to pull a shot off with everyone taking pix too. Harder to do solo.

It was! On another day I wasn't thinking and started taking pictures during dinner and then looked up and noticed many people staring at me. :confused3

You guys all seem like such fun! I'm enjoying your TR so far and look forward to reading updates. Like another poster said, I feel like I'm crashing a party. I hope it's ok to join the fun!

Laura

:welcome: Glad you're here. Nah, you're not crashing a party. Everyone is invited. :thumbsup2 Stick around, it's going to get better and better! Be sure to visit Winkers, Rosie, and Jordans TR's too.

What a great update!!!

I can't believe the woman on soaring but the FP karma paid off and you handled it beautifully!

The Wave sounds, and looks, like a blast. I LOVE the gifts you got for everyone and that dining was stress free for the food allergies. What a wonderful evening.

Thanks :goodvibes
yeah we got total good fp karma on that one!
The Wave was nice. We really did like it. And stress free is a huge plus!

Hi Cherie, what a great first day! We like the wave, but feel the same about the food-good but not great. Fun presents and what fun that you all could enjoy the time together. You are like the cool club on the Dis! For Jordans bday trip the reports will take over the entire site! Thanks for the update.

Hi there!
Yeah it was good not super. I'd go again. I'd like to try a couple of other things on the menu.
:rotfl2: The "cool club"?? That's AWESOME!! I've never been in the COOL club in my life!! :cool1:
I agree, the big trip of 2012 is going to be insane!!! They should just close the parks down to the general public. :thumbsup2

WAVE WARNING IN HAWAII HAS JUST BEEN LIFTED!!!!

Which is good since there are TOURISTS on the beaches taking pictures!!!!!

So glad no one was injured.

Hi there! I have seen you over on Jordan's TR & jumped over here. I'm excited to get to read about your trip from different perspectives. Your first day sounds amazing!! How fun to get to have a Dis meet on your first night at a good restaurant. Is there anything better than that?

On a side note, I might have missed this info....how did you figure out your son's food allergies? My son is almost 2 1/2 & we have been fortunate to not have any allergies yet. I thought we were in the clear. Did you have any indications when he was younger, or did it just start all of a sudden? I can imagine how scary it must have been to order at all of the different restaurants. I can't believe how rude people can be, especially when it seems like it would be obvious what you were looking for!!

First off :welcome: Thanks for coming over!!

As far as the peanut allergy we had no idea or indication. I can't remember what the age was that you are supposed to wait to introduce peanuts or peanut butter but I waited another year and a half. I was paranoid. But when introduced, nothing happened. He never was a big peanut or peanut butter eater but he has had it a few times a year. Last August he ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch (at my suggestion because he never eats that) and he just started getting welts all over around his mouth and chin. I knew this was an allergic reaction because he had the same reaction years earlier to green peas. He was never "formally" diagnosed as being allergic to the sweet peas. The pediatrician just said to wait another year then try them again. Needless to say after the peanut reaction last August I went to an allergist to have him tested. He is allergic to pea's and peanuts which are both legumes. We have to be very careful with legumes. I'm still learning all the beans and peas that are considered legumes. It is hard and confusing. There are some that he is not allergic to like soy. And that just makes it even more complicated when you are trying to explain it to someone on the spot who is preparing his food. It's a mess, I tell ya! I think I will be cooking in the room for our June trip. :rolleyes1

:thumbsup2 I love that your roommate is slowly crossing over to the dark side. :lmao:

Me too! Wow, from picture taking without eye rolling to actually plotting kilt kozy moments!

Cherie, where did you get that kozy? I must get a set for the kilt wearing men in my family.

:thumbsup2

:rotfl2:

I found it on Ebay!!! There is someone on there that has a whole kilt shop.

I found it on Ebay!!! There is someone on there that has a whole kilt shop.

I have to check it out. We have kilts (and yes, it's like buying a tux...not a suit but a tux!), but no kilt kozy. Did you just search "kilt" and it came up?

That would be the bomb for fathers day....

This trip we got to meet up with a bunch of other crazy Diser's!!! We were lucky enough to get to spend time with Jordan and his family and friends....Wendy & Derek and their cute kiddo's, and Kim & Alan. We also got to spend time with Winkers (Cherie) and DJay and also Rosie!!! We even met a NEW Diser one morning at DHS....."Mytallula".
Can't wait to hear all about your meets and see pictures of the fun times! Sure hope I can participate in one of these DisMeet extravaganzas sometime!

If you've read my PTR you know that we weren't sure if our brand new Yukon would make it there or not.
So glad you made it there safely and that the lemon lasted for the trip!

I have taken a picture of DS next to these posts every year we've gone to Disney.
Great idea!:thumbsup2

Oh my gosh... I can smell the Disney air when I see this! LOVE Old Key West! Just LOVE it!!

I did not do the online check in but for the first time EVER, our room was ready when we got there!! (about 10:00am)
 Don't you LOVE that feeling!? I always have all of my fingers and toes crossed that our room will be ready so we can unload the car before heading to the parks. Sometimes, it actually works!

This time I put the reservations under DH's name for the first time ever. I wonder if this had anything to do with it??
Well, OF COURSE it did!! You know the wife's golden rule: It's ALWAYS the husband's fault!
;)

We eventually got tired of being beat up by the wind. It really wears you out! Of course we soldiered on!! I mean come on........IT'S DISNEY WORLD!!! :woohoo:
I don't know what's worse... being exhausted by cold and wind, or heat and humidity!:confused3

You may remember that we have found that DS has severe food allergies. He is allergic to peanuts and green peas (legumes). We have to carry an epi-pen.
Wow... I sure hope this doesn't become a source of drama for the whole trip. I hope Disney was able to make this a non-issue most of the time!
If any of those people are reading my TR, I'd like to pause and take this moment to tell you to shove it where the sun doesn't shine!!! GET IN ANOTHER LINE!!!! THIS IS MY CHILD WE'RE TALKING ABOUT!! GET A GRIP ON YOURSELVES!!!
:rotfl::rotfl:Preach it, girl!!:rotfl::rotfl:

This was DS's first time to ride EEA. He wanted to see the dinosaurs because he was thinking about riding the ride "Dinosaur" in Animal Kingdom for the first time this trip. He thought this would be a good way to build up to that.
What did he think of it? Tyson was bored to tears. After the initial "oooooo" of the dinosaur scene... it was "is this almost over?" after that! Just wondering what your little guy thought.

They were sitting outside of EEA and we totally missed each other!!!
:headache:DOH!

I hope we get to meet you sometime too!!
I'm so glad the car lasted.
I love OKW too. We are excited to get to try out AKV but OKW feels like home to us because we've been there every trip since 2007.

It wasn't at summer time capacity but to me it was close. Definitely not like the usual February crowds.
Whoever is marketing the 'off' seasons is doing a dang fine job! We went in November during an 'off' season and it was SO crowded, too! What gives?!:confused3

That's when I hear the lady who was so sweet and nice to me in the line only 2 minutes ago say "WELL SHE SHOULD LEAVE BECAUSE THEY HAVE RIDDEN IT BEFORE!!!"
What the?!?:sad2: Ridiculous!

When it was our turn to ride, we got front row again (of course) and we were also given a fast pass voucher to any ride in the park that we wanted to use it on!! :woohoo: This means that we WOULD get to ride DS's favorite ride at Epcot......TEST TRACK before dinner! :yay:
Ah... sweet vengance!

I had brought gifts for everyone and had to gather them all up before we left.
And you did this on top of all of the stuff you were doing for DS's school and teachers?!?! :worship: You are awesome!

:rotfl:I Love it!

:rotfl::rotfl:I REALLY love it!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I SO TOTALLY LOVE it!!

I'm still wondering if she's been putting that thing to use. Her kitchen does seem to be coming along a lot faster since she's gotten home from the trip. I'm just sayin'.
:rotfl::rotfl:You are on a roll, Cherie!!

It sounds like you all had a wonderful meal together! How did DS do with all of those adults? Loved the gift exchange... what a great idea!

I was such a bad DISer! No gifts for my good friends....Does it help to say that I thought about it;)
Aw, Jordan... I'm sure nobody thought ill of you! Your sense of humor is gift enough, I'm sure!

I can't believe that lady said that, but I'm the drunk magnet and you must be the rude lady magnet......:rotfl2:;) But hey, who cares when you get a use anywhere FP!

Rude lady magnet!:lmao: Remember the feet lady at Playhouse Disney?!:lmao:

 Don't you LOVE that feeling!? I always have all of my fingers and toes crossed that our room will be ready so we can unload the car before heading to the parks. Sometimes, it actually works!

:rotfl2: I will have to try the fingers and toes crossing next time!

Well, OF COURSE it did!! You know the wife's golden rule: It's ALWAYS the husband's fault!
;)

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:Ok, I just choked on my drink!! That is too funny.

I don't know what's worse... being exhausted by cold and wind, or heat and humidity!:confused3
Hmmmm, right now I say cold & wind. But ask me again after my June trip! :thumbsup2

Wow... I sure hope this doesn't become a source of drama for the whole trip. I hope Disney was able to make this a non-issue most of the time!

:rotfl::rotfl:Preach it, girl!!:rotfl::rotfl:

:lmao: They irritated me. It was hard to ignore them.

What did he think of it? Tyson was bored to tears. After the initial "oooooo" of the dinosaur scene... it was "is this almost over?" after that! Just wondering what your little guy thought.
He liked it but I think the last part of it he was jsut waiting to see more dinosaurs. He didn't realize there weren't any more. :rotfl:

:headache:DOH!

:rotfl:

Boy, I'm racking up the post counts on this trip report, aren't I?:goodvibes

Just wanted to finish up by saying... your banter with Jordan about missing each other when you got home was so sweet. It's so amazing and pretty awesome that your cross-country, long-distance, web-inspired friendship is so strong! Warms the heart, it does!

Whoever is marketing the 'off' seasons is doing a dang fine job! We went in November during an 'off' season and it was SO crowded, too! What gives?!:confused3

I totally agree!! I'm not sure if there IS a slow season anymore.
What the?!?:sad2: Ridiculous!

:confused3
Ah... sweet vengance!
:thumbsup2

Awesome? I don't know. Exhausted? YES!! :rotfl2:
