National Lampoon's February Quest For Fun!!~ LIVE UPDATE 2/9 post 852

Sorry to hear about the allergy. A co-worker of mine has celiacs disease and she and her dh went to Disney for their anniversary this summer. Based on everything she has said, Disney was absolutely wonderful about accomodating her needs. She got to talk to all the chefs, and for the first time in a long time ate worry free. I told another friend of mine who has horrible food allergies about this and she wants to go to Disney for this reason. I hope you are able to have the same experience with DH!

Let's plan on meeting up if possible !!!

It really depends on when we get out of dinner. We will be coming from DTD. I'm not sure if we will make it on time to catch the show. I really hope we can! Anyway, after Fantasmic we are heading over to MK for the evening Magic hours!

I'm so glad to hear that about Disney. They really have already started to put my mind at ease. I'm so thankful they are that way! Makes it so much easier and less stressful.

After Wishes it clears out a lot. From then on, the later you stay the less the crowd. Everything becomes either walk on or close to it.

I just found this and am joining in. I lurked (I may have rarely posted) on your other reports. Polar Express looks really fun. I will have to look into that next year for my dd. She loves trains. We are big Phin and Ferb (thats what my dd calls them) fans too. Your ds is getting so big. He has grown alot since the last report I read of yours.

Hi there and :welcome:

Glad to see you here. I do remember seeing you before. :goodvibes

Aww, your dd would LOVE the train ride. There was not a child on there that wasn't happy that night.

Phineas and Ferb is great. I like watching it with him sometimes. He wants the soundtrack CD for Christmas. I found one at a good price on Amazon! :woohoo:

Yes, he is growing like a weed!!!!

Thanks for the welcome. Is there a website for the Polar Express Train ride? Every time Alexia sees the commercial for the Phineas and Ferb Christmas special she asks me if it starting now. She can't wait until she can watch it.

I recently realized when asked about it that I never posted where we are staying. I'm not sure if I've even posted our dates! :lmao: So, I'm going back to do so now!

The when: February 6-13th

The Where: Old Key West resort. Why? Because we are addicted to that place apparently. :rotfl2: We do like the space and the price is right for a Deluxe Villa resort. We can't wait to hear those favorite 2 words when we arrive....."Welcome Home".

On to our dining reservations. Some of our choices are new but most are old favorites. Here they are in no particular order:

Kona - Dinner (we've done this the last 2 trips & love it!)

50's Primetime Cafe - Lunch (gotta have that pot roast!)

T-Rex - Dinner the theming here is great. DS is a dinosaur lover so of course we need to book this one! We did this one last trip and I must say that the food was good! I don't remember the drink I had but it was VERY good too.

Tusker House - Donald's Safari Breakfast. It is our first time doing the safari breakfast. Usually we do Crystal Palace but it is closed for refurbishment this trip. Not really complaining. It is forcing us outside of our box which is good! Our ressie time is 8am which is before the park opens.

Captain's Grill - Dinner This is a new one for us. Believe it or not, out of our many trips we have never treked over to check out the Beach Club or Yacht club or the Boardwalk! We will have dinner here, then look around and head over to the Boardwalk.

Coral Reef - Dinner This is an old favorite. DS likes to see the fish, we like to eat the fish. Everyone's happy. I will be getting an Octopus Juice at this location. :thumbsup2

Teppan Edo
- Dinner at the Hibachi in Japan! We LOVE the hibachi here at one of our Japanese restaurants. We actually eat there A LOT! So I can't believe we haven't ever tried the one at Disney. Well now we will!!

O'hana - Dinner This is a new one for us too! Last trip while eating at Kona, we saw the line to O'hana around the corner. This place gets good reviews. We can't wait to give it a try.

Last but certainly not least.....

Hoop Dee Doo Revue!! Dinner Show. I got us a Category 1 seating. We did Cat. 1 last trip and it was FABULOUS!! We were front and center. This is a dinner show that we never get tired of. It is SO FUNNY and you are put right in the middle of it all. It's an all you can eat style meal that they bring to your table. Fried chicken & BBQ ribs, beans, cornbread to die for, salad, corn, and you also get all you can drink!! That is soda's but also all you can drink beer, wine, & sangria! DS loves it and thinks it's hilarious. He gets into it every time. Clapping and dancing. It's great. If you've never done it, you really need to. You will not be disappointed. :thumbsup2

Ok, to end this installment, I will leave you with past pictures from Hoop Dee Doo since I've made such a big deal of it. :rotfl:

I don't think I would question any of your ADRs. Wasn't Scott the one who ate at Captain's Grille and liked it?

I chose Captain's Grill because the menu looked like something DH would like. I wanted to find a restaurant that he would like close to the Boardwalk and such. I hope it's good!

Tusker House is great. You're going to love it.

Yay!! Thanks! :goodvibes

I was surprised by how good the food at T-Rex is! I think they have the best ribs I've ever had at a restraunt.

Thanks! :thumbsup2

I can't remember who said it was good. It may have been him. I will have to ask him.

I don't think it was me but ...

I have eaten there and it was good. :thumbsup2 Very quiet. It was almost as if it was a secret place. We had great service and great steaks.
Hope you enjoy it. :goodvibes
