30 days!!!!!
the good thing is that you will be so busy that time will fly!
i just wanted to say that i see absolutely nothing wrong with this. my parents always took all of us out of school for vacation, whether it was disney, st. louis, hawaii or wherever! that was our motivation for doing well in school....if you don't make the grades, you don't go to disney world. ENOUGH SAID! we usually went wherever we decided to go that year either in october or may and all my teachers were always very good about it and always gave me my work for the week, which i would usually do in the car on the way down to get it behind me! i definitely plan on doing that with my child, if possible. now, having said that, it was over 20 years ago when i was a kid taking a week off school for disney world. i understand they are more strict about it now. i hope my kid has some understanding teachers!

I took a chance and talked to DS's teacher and asked her how she felt about parents taking kids out for vacation. She was COMPLETELY SUPPORTIVE!!!!WHAT???!!!! Needless to say, I was in shock. I really wasn't expecting that. Actually, today she told me that I will be the 4th person this year to go to WDW from DS's class.
She is totally fine with it and said she'd give me his school work for that week.......my idea....she wasn't even going to worry about it since he is doing so good.
