National Lampoon's February Quest For Fun!!~ LIVE UPDATE 2/9 post 852

30 days!!!!! :cool1:

the good thing is that you will be so busy that time will fly!

I took a chance and talked to DS's teacher and asked her how she felt about parents taking kids out for vacation. She was COMPLETELY SUPPORTIVE!!!! WHAT???!!!! Needless to say, I was in shock. I really wasn't expecting that. Actually, today she told me that I will be the 4th person this year to go to WDW from DS's class. :yay: She is totally fine with it and said she'd give me his school work for that week.......my idea....she wasn't even going to worry about it since he is doing so good.

i just wanted to say that i see absolutely nothing wrong with this. my parents always took all of us out of school for vacation, whether it was disney, st. louis, hawaii or wherever! that was our motivation for doing well in school....if you don't make the grades, you don't go to disney world. ENOUGH SAID! we usually went wherever we decided to go that year either in october or may and all my teachers were always very good about it and always gave me my work for the week, which i would usually do in the car on the way down to get it behind me! i definitely plan on doing that with my child, if possible. now, having said that, it was over 20 years ago when i was a kid taking a week off school for disney world. i understand they are more strict about it now. i hope my kid has some understanding teachers!

YAY..so close now :woohoo:

Wow, my head was spinning at all you have to do in the next month :rotfl:

Seriously, sounds like such a fun school he goes to :goodvibes

I don't think busy is the right word to describe what you're going to be for the next month! I agree though, it should make the time go faster for you! Your school sounds very neat though, I wish ours had so many fun activities!

Wow. I'm glad you made that countdown, or the trip would be on your doorstep and you wouldn't even know it!

Less than 30 days
Planning his party and all of the other stuff you do will make the time go by even faster.

The sweaters are cute :)

If I win the Lottery maybe the whole family would do both !!! Otherwise I am just doing WDW!!
:rotfl2: I know what you mean.

You are going to be so busy the trip will be here before you know it!:thumbsup2

That is one really good thing about being so busy! :woohoo:

Wow, you do have a lot going on leading up to the trip! Live by the "To Do" list and you'll get through it.

The "to do" list is something I can't live without. Especially right now. I think I'd lose my mind otherwise!

I feel the same way about it. If the grades are good then why not??:confused3 He will be doing exactly what you did. Since we have a 9 hour drive the first day, he can do most if not all of his work then. It's not like they have a HUGE amount.

My head is spinning too! :lmao:
The school is pretty fun. They really want the parents to be involved in their education experience. This is a major reason why we chose this school.

Time will fly!!
They do try to have a lot of stuff for everyone to get into. I like that about this school.

:lmao: SO TRUE!!

I'm glad I have a lot to keep me busy. I'm working on it every day so the closer it gets hopefully I will have time to pack!

Thanks about the sweaters. :goodvibes

Today while DS was at school I started my craziness of pre-trip preparing. I made lists, phone calls, and trips to certain businesses to get ready for DS's birthday party which is RIGHT AFTER WE GET HOME!! :scared1: Yes, that's right....I get to plan an entire party BEFORE I leave for my trip. Let the craziness begin!!

I deal with this same thing every year! We typically go the first week of fall break, which is always around the same time give or take a couple days. This year, it'll be September 18th - 25th. My girls birthdays are October 5th and 7th, so I have two parties a week after we get back, since we'll do the parties the weekend before their b-day. Its crazy! Actually, the first year we went to WDW in 05, we were celebrating their 2nd and 5th birthdays. They had no idea what day it really was, not paying much attention to the calendar in those days - so they thought we were there on their ACTUAL birthdays.

1. LOVE the countdown calendar

2. Your little man is growing up SO FAST!! WOW!!

3. Can you move to Indy, so your boy can be in MY class so I can have YOU as a room mom?!?! You are out of control involved, supportive, and gift-giving!! Let me know when you put your house up for sale. I have a great realtor in Indy.
;)

Seriously, though. I hope you don't have a nervous breakdown before you leave ! Take care, Blue!!!! Enjoy taking those Mickey heads down!

Glad I'm not alone! We did that one year in WDW too. I ordered him a cake for our dinner at Chef Mickey's and everything. It was fun and he had no idea it wasn't his actual birthday. It was only 1 week away so why not celebrate it in the WORLD!!?? :goodvibes

Thank you
He is growing TOO FAST!
:rotfl2: You are too funny. Well, a lot of this stuff is given to me in a folder at the beginning of the year by the parent/teacher committee heads, so it's almost like it's "expected". I try to add my own "zest" to each thing. I like doing it and being involved. :goodvibes

Yes Blue as the New Year came I really geered up for this trip!!I can't believe it all workedout that we would be there together !! I was toying with May and then Christine couldn't go and Feb is cheaper sooo I joined the group !!! Can you imagine what June 2012 planning is gonna be like !! I think a bunch ofpeople are planning to go!!!

If the stars are in my favor and God is willing, I will be one on the trip. I can't wait to meet everyone.

2012 is going to be awesome!! I'm leaving it up to fate as to whether we do the cruise or WDW. Even if we do the cruise, I think we will still do at least 1-2 days at WDW just so we can meet up with the people who won't be on the cruise. :goodvibes
It is exciting to think about so many DIS people being there all in one place.

If I win the Lottery maybe the whole family would do both !!! Otherwise I am just doing WDW!!
I'm with ya there Rose, I will only be doing WDW. But I'm good with that, I'm not sure I could handle a cruise. I get sea sick pretty easy.

Ok- I just want to say that I have been lurking.. and now I'm subbing! And also I'm all caught up!! hehe

I just want to say I lovvveeee your mickey pancakes. I also do mickey pancakes, its like my signature thing. hehe

I love your little christmas tree- its very cute.

I am also excited to join you in your less than 30 days countdown! :cool1:

I can't wait to see everyone on that 2012 trip. I guess it sort of depends on DH's work schedule and when he can get off. Also, if we do a cruise in 2011 then we are more likely to just do WDW in 2012. Not sure yet. There are soooo many "if's", "and's", or "but's" right now because it's so far in advance. It'll be neat to see how it all plays out.

:welcome: Glad you came over and are now out of lurkdom! :rotfl:
Thanks about the pancakes. They make me feel like an artist in the mornings. :lmao:
Thanks about the little potted Christmas tree. It would be nice to find another one just like it. That way next year I can put them on my front porch. I don't want to get rid of it, it's too cute!! ;)
Glad you are joining in! Get ready for the TR when we all get back! I have a feeling there are going to be 4 TR's that will be VERY picture heavy. :rotfl2:

Today we went shopping at Khol's and got some great deals!! I was able to rack up on DS's clothes. Getting him 4 sweatshirts, 2 long sleeve t-shirts, 2 pair of jeans, & a Buzz Lightyear long sleeve shirt!! DH was able to snag 2 pair of new tennis shoes for our trip. Next we headed to Old Navy so I could look for some jeans. I found 2 pair which is exactly what I needed. :woohoo: I feel so accomplished today. :rotfl2: Also, when we got home there was a package on our door step. It was my new park bag!!! The trip is getting close I tell ya!!

DH looks like he's asleep in the Splash photo. It's so funny. expressionless, unless that's how he looks when he's scared poo-less.:)

Did you find that Buzz shirt at Kohl's? It's GREAT! You sure do know how to shop, lady! Thanks for sharing.

And I'm loving the review pics... especially the flat Jordan ones! Hilarious!:lmao:

:lmao: I know, I laughed so hard when I saw the pic. I was like "OH NO MY BABY!!!" And he was just hangin'. :confused3:rotfl2:

When you shop, you SHOP!!!!!!!
Yes I do! Actually we sort of just ran into that sale today.

I like flat me next to the bonsai trees.:thumbsup2

Hee hee. I was trying to put you between all the tree's but you kept falling over. Eventually a CM started to walk over toward us and we were affraid they would think we were being insensitive to the Japanese race. So, we were like.....ABORT!! ABORT!! I leaned Flat Jordan against the side, he clicked the pic and we got the heck outta there! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Yes, they actually had a few buzz shirts but they were out of his size in the others. It was a REALLY GOOD sale! Those t-shirts were $4 and the sweatshirts were $5. The jeans for DS were buy 1 get one FREE! Major score!! :woohoo:

SCORE!!! :thumbsup2 i love successful shopping trips, especially ones that are less expensive than you thought they would be!

Wow! You must be tired after all that shoppin!

I miss having kids young enough to enjoy disney shirts. I need another child.
