National Emerald - Minivan?

Has anyone been able to book a minivan at National through their Emerald Club Service? When I try to on-line, it indicates that this car is available only through counter service.

How far in advance do you book to get the best rates? We're going in September.

You need to change the selection to say Emerald Reserve rather than Counter Service. Just click inside that field and then pick Emerald Reserve. That just means you can go to the garage and pick up your van from the van area and go right to the check out booth, without going to the counter.

What I generally do (and I think many others do as well) is reserve what you need now and continue to check back periodically for better rates. If the rates are better make a new reservation and cancel the old one. I am one week out from my reservation and my price just went down $80. I'm so glad I checked back!

The best rates have been found by using the Priceless code (6600330 - available to everyone) and an Entertainment book coupon for $20 off. There is a web address where you can print a copy of the coupon, but I'm sorry, I don't have that link. If you search for National Entertainment Book coupon, you might find it. Or, maybe someone else knows it.

I tried to change this when reserving a mini-van. I only had the choice of EA or counter. No reserve. Has something changed??

No, I had the same thing happen to me. You can't book the minivan through emerald reserve - it says the choice is not available for reserve. Maybe because minivans are so popular in Orlando, they want to make sure they keep count of their stock by making you go through the counter?

When we get into the garage do we pick the mini-van that we want and then walk over to the booth that is located in the garage and tell them which parking spot the one we want is in or do they asign you one when you walk up to the booth.

We reserved mini-vans through Emerald Reserve for both our June and March trips. If you have to go to the counter now, that is new since mid-June.

You don't have to go to the booth at all. You simply go to the Van isle, hop in the one you want and drive out to the exit booth where they take you emerald club card, credit card, and drivers license and after they process it your on the road.

I just tried a dummy reservation for out time frame in Sept and it gave me the option of either counter or emerald reserve with a mini-van. Clear your cookies out of memory and try again.

If you are on Internet Explorer, go to tools, internet options, delete cookies and delete files (middle of the screen).
