I am soooo excited to finally be making our plans for our June trip. I got a quote of $279 for 9 days rental for an intermediate, does that seem like a good deal? Also anyone who has been recently do they still have a pretty good selection on the isle, I know it's hit or miss. Last time we had a mini van the time before that a Stratus either is fine, I wouldn't chance being stuck with an intermediate if it wasn't completely acceptable, but it's always nice to be pleasantly suprised with an "upgrade". I can't believe we haven't been to Orlando in 3 years.....did I mention how excited I was to be making my plans.:bounce: :bounce:

I have a rental for 148.00 for 8 days (all taxes and fees), I would keep checking. did you use any codes or coupons for this rental?

Since you're an Emerald Aisle member, you can use the club code - 5007125, I think. That gave me the best discount for my trip next month - 11%.

Then you can add a coupon discount on top of that - Mousesavers.com has a link to a $15 discount.

To answer the original question - $279 for nine days sounds high. National's rates bounce up and down all the time, especially as your trip gets closer, so keep checking every few days - always by making a new reservation, and THEN cancelling the old one. The way National is set up now, it looks like modifying an older reservation uses the rates in effect at the time - this can sometimes work in your favor, and sometimes not.

No codes and no coupons....any suggestions?

www.mousesavers.com There are many codes and a couple of links to coupons.

If you are a member of Sam's Club, BJ's or Costco, they have codes and coupons. AARP? Codes for that.

I have a car reserved on the Emerald Aisle next week, I'll let know how it goes!

Gail,
what is your time period for that price? The best I could do was $241 (including taxes/fees) for a full size in April. That was with using codes and coupons!

Jan 27-Feb4.

I did revise my reservation. The one that was for 148.17 was with the DC club discount and BJ's coupon for 20.00, BUT, I got edgy about using the DC discount, so I went with the EC discount listed here, my reservation is now 156.97, from where I sit, the savings of 8.80 was not worth the agnst of worrying if the DC discount would be accepted. I have a 50.00 voucher, so, it brings the entire rental down to 106.97, not too bad for 8 days.

Hang in there, when I first started planning this trip the rates were very high. Keep checking, they may go down. If you are going over the Easter time frame, expect higher than normal rates. Heavy demand= high prices, usually.
