Just a little thing to keep in the back of your mind--may save some grief.

Our scheduled airline arrival was for 11pm--due to all the nasty weather in the midwest we arrived late--almost 1am. Our National car reservation was to be about $200 and when we returned the car they handed me a $311 bill. :confused3

I had a copy of my reservation and it was adjusted after I stood in line for about 25 minutes......25 minutes that may be critical to some of you running late for a plane!

The agent making the adjustment told me that upon arrival/car pickup I should POINT OUT that my plane was late and confirm the cost. Apparently it is a midnight thing---something about the computer thinking I am picking up a day late?? He said that if anyone is delayed past midnight to adjust the reservation before taking the car.

Hope this saves some of you some time.

We had a late arrival in July (3-4hrs late) and it was right before midnight.

I ran to the counter while my husband was with the luggage but the woman wouldn't let me checkin because it was in my husband's name. She kept reassuring me it wouldn't matter what time I picked it up, it's no big deal...

Well, it was after midnight when we left and it didn't seem to change our rate.

But it's good to know to check before you leave.
