Why availability at Copper Creek villas?

Trying to book a last-minute stay for our son for spring break. Top two choices are Polynesian or Boulder Ridge. Two bedroom. Odds and ends only available at these two however, there’s a lot of availability at Copper Creek Villas. Can anyone explain why lots of availability @CCV in March?

Maybe they had a lot of inventory blocked off for the exterior refurbishment (I can’t think they are putting people in rooms with scaffolding surrounding the balcony) and they have now freed it up in anticipation of that being done. Just a guess.

That happened to me in Sept, changed my booking right before my trip as sudden availability dropped at BLT. Turned out it was due to rooms being released earlier than expected as the refurb wrapped. Obviously this could also happen the opposite direction if a refurb is going slower than anticipated so I’m not saying the room will definitely be new, just that refurbs do shift inventory.

I’m pretty sure they released some rooms earlier this week. I was able to change a reservation in February to CCV. Availability was pretty much zero and suddenly this week there were tons of rooms available.

Just an fyi. We had Boulder Ridge booked but when we got there they put us in CCV. Granted, before the renovations. But just something to think about as a possibility if you don’t like to be around construction.

If I booked BR, I would not be pleased if they put me in CC - I'd have to be very picky with them as far as what room I'd accept in CC. I like long views and some privacy in the rooms, and most CC rooms look across at other rooms or buildings. I've stayed at BR many times, and never heard of that happening - did they give you any explanation why they moved you to CC?

I also would not be happy to be moved from BRV to CCV. It wouldn't be the end of the world but I would definitely complain.

It was a cash stay, and just for one night. I believe they said BRV was full. We were a little disappointed as we were considering purchasing at BRV and wanted to check it out, but otherwise, we didn’t mind, really. We had a nice 1BR with a sweet view (and I want to say we had a studio booked). I was just concerned it could potentially be an issue for OP with all that’s going on there and a lot of availability at CCV. Good to know it’s not something seen very often. Now you’ve got me curious, though - what makes you guys prefer BRV to CCV? We never did get to see a room there.

Speaking for myself, I prefer BRV because it's a separate building. Quiet, steps from the bus stop, but still very close to the main lodge.

I prefer CCV to BRV because I like the main building much more than BRV. That being said, the renovations to BRV rooms look amazing, and I would be happy to stay there as well. I would not have been okay being moved to CCV from BRV if they had kept me in a studio since the BRV sleeps 5 instead of 4. In my family, having that extra sleeping space is a must.

I prefer quiet so the BRV wing fits that bill for me. The walk to the bus stop is close and totally covered. The walk to the main building isn't bad at all. I also like the layout of the rooms better than CCV. I also prefer the decor in the rooms at BRV over CCV, though they are slightly improved now.
