Last night I called to see if I could add the Entertainment Coupon onto my existing reservation with DC. The price was $150 higher!!
A friend called as was able to save $20 with her coupon so I decided to try again today. Hurray, Today they just added the coupon to my original ressie and I saved $20. A word to the wise, keep trying until you get someone who knows what they're doing.

A better strategy, or at least a useful component of a good strategy, is to see what the website will accept. Yes, it's a textbook example of.... of.... a bizarre site, but if it gives you a rate, and you present the required documentation (coupon, membership card), you will get that rate, regardless of what the bozo on the phone said.
