I have a National EA reservation for October 15-23 at MCO. Just read on another thread on this board that when you get to MCO you are switched to Alamo. Can that be? I've never had a problem before and would like a heads up if there are going to be any changes.

Last time I was there, I went to the EA. The garage is "cosigned" National/Alamo but there was still and National desk and EA.

You are not switched to Alamo.

Alamo and National are owned by the same parent company and they are side by side in the parking garage. I wonder if you read that National did not have a car someone reserved so they sent them to Alamo.

National and EA are very easy at MCO. Go to the garage, find the Emerald Aisle, pick your car, and drive to the exit booth. You are soon on the road to see Mickey!

This happened to us just this past week. We were scheduled to fly out of MCO into Cleveland on Monday but the flight was leaving about an hour and a half late and we would have missed our connecting flight. Our options were: Take the plane anyway and call our son in Cambridge, have him drive up to Cleveland and pick us up, then drive us to Pittsburgh to pick up our van. Or stay overnight in Cleveland. Or stay another day in Florida. Hm-m what to choose???

We ended up, naturally, staying in Florida. We had already turned in our full size car so we went to the National desk and the only thing they had left was some compacts. We went to the parking garage and they had none left in the National side so they sent us to Alamo. Plenty of them there. We picked a Pontiac Firebird, which was nice, but after having a Buick Lacross for 4 days - well, you know....

We did finally get home - to snow and cold - about 8:30 Tuesday night. We did have a great time in Florida even though they had chilly temps on Monday morning. We rent from National most of the time and find them the easiest to deal with.

was the lacrosse on the full size aisle???

Actually I didn't see a Full Size Aisle. They sent us to the Executive Aisle. I showed the lady our reservation for a full size car and that's where she directed us to. When we stayed over that one more day, the Compact Aisle they sent us to on Alamo had a minivan there but we have one and my husband wanted to drive something different.

I'm not sure if they were out of full size cars or if that's where you get your full size from now on.

ah....that makes sense now....

thought i saw somewhere, that national is the only car rental agency that has the new G6 and LaCrosse cars....

the G6 will be featured on the Emerald Aisle and the LaCrosse was to be a feature of the Executive Aisle ....thus why you would get one there

thanks for the reply
