National Coupons? None are working?

Can someone please explain why a brand new coupon just released is not applicable to my reservation?

Are there any working coupons available?

I am guessing that MCO is just not allowing coupons....because they don't have to.

This has been going on with Alamo for quite a while. So if it's now the case with National, then no surprise.

I guess they have just decided that MCO can support business without them.

What National Car Rental coupon code are you asking about? And what are your rental plans?

Usually, the terms and conditions for car rental coupon codes are quite clear.

What's the coupon code's expiration date? What car classes are eligible? Does the rental need to include a Saturday night? Is there a minimum number of days required for the rental? Are one-way rentals specifically included or excluded? Can the coupon be "stacked" with other coupon codes or special rate codes?

Orlando International Airport is a corporate location for National Car Rental. It would not make sense for National to exclude Orlando, especially considering that Orlando serves many price-sensitive leisure travelers and that it's a competitive market.

This seems to be going on with most of the car rental companies at MCO. Most of the coupons I have attempted to use are giving me either an error message or a message stating that the coupon is not able to be used at "this location" and the searches I am doing are meeting the requirements of the coupon. It's a shame! Just three years ago, I was able to rent a full size vehicle from Alamo for 6 days for only $68!

Yes, the coupons I am attempting to apply meet the criteria. I have done this dozens of times, just wondering why absolutely none will work at MCO and asking if this is now just the norm.

Hum... I just try to make two fake rentals and it took my coupon code.

Again, I'm not the OP but I tried it for my dates of 2/14-2/21 and I get this message once I click on to select a car: Your coupon cannot be applied to this reservation. I wonder if it's because my dates are during President's week. Even if I could use the coupon, the prices are outrageous, $719.52 for an economy car!

My dates are also during Presidents week. They must have blocked the dates.

That is more than likely the reason.

But don't loose hope. We usually go to WDW during that week and I have noticed that the Tues before my trip starts - that is when last minutes specials are release, the prices come down a lot. I usually get a mid-size for $125.oo for a week. So keep checking and you might get lucky :)

I was just going to post the same exact thing about National today. I'm having the same problem. I just signed up for the Emerald Club. Decided to do it since I heard such great things. Prior to signing up I tried an KLM code that DID WORK and now it doesn't. I tried coupon codes and contract ID numbers found at mousesavers.com and some on National site itself. Everything is coming back invalid. I've doubled checked the terms, expiration dates, etc....and it's all good. What a pain.

I'm not having any trouble getting the KLM code and the entertainment coupon of $30. to work for our upcoming Memorial Day week-long trip. That being said, still much higher than I am used to paying, but that's just about everything anymore these days. :goodvibes

National is being very stingy at the moment.

And yes, they do reserve the right to block any and all codes, discounts, coupons at the whim of Goofy or Pluto.

I'm a very frequent National renter and much prefer them, but at the moment, I went with their sister company Enterprise for my April rental at about $100 cheaper, no codes, coupons, required.

Indeed, using my National rental discount (which Enterprise accepts and usually gives $$$) made my Enterprise rental the same cost as National :rolleyes1

The only times I have ever found the "K" code valuable was for one-way rentals, where it gives HEFTY, HEFTY discounts (of course, the K gives all that "free" LDW, etc.,).

So, if inclined, check Enterprise....and keep checking National.

I called National today because the codes that I've found on these boards and other sites are not working. The lady was very nice, but she said all the ones I was trying to use has "hit their limit" and can't be used any more.

What's the K code and how do you get Enterprise to accept your National discount? I have a one way rental and the price I have is ridiculous when compared to what I've paid for the same week. What discount are you referencing?

I was able to add an Entertainment Book coupon ($25) to an existing National reservation booked with the KLM Flying Blue discount code. Called up the reservation today online, selected "modify", added the coupon, and it worked perfectly.
