National Counter: specific car or your choice?

I've searched through the old National Counter threads but didn't find an answer to my odd question. Even though I'm an Emerald Club member, I have counter service for an upcoming ressie because we're using an upgrade coupon.

For anyone who's used the counter at MCO, do you:

1) Get assigned a specific car--e.g. take the Impala in space #104 or
2) Do you still get to choose from the row of the class you reserved, as if you had Emerald Reserve?

We've always used the EA on our previous trips, but we wanted to guarantee a fullsize on our next trip, since there will be 5 of us. We're using an upgrade coupon to get the fullsize but were curious if we'll have a choice of cars or be at the mercy of the counter agent.

If Im not mistaken, you still get to choose your own car because the lot is setup that way....

Hmmm .... good question. I'm also curious. I originally thought they would assign you a specific car, but now I'm trying to remember exactly where assigned cars would be. I would think that the Emerald Reserve would work better for them.
