National Contract ID #

I was just on Mousesavers.com and read this ...

"Do not use Contract ID 6600330 anymore. For years this code worked to waive various fees on your rental, which could save you a lot. Now National has decided this was an error and is ADDING the fees to the rental, even if they don't appear on your confirmation. If you have a pending reservation using this number, I strongly recommend you cancel it and rebook with a different Contract ID, or you could have an unpleasant surprise!"

Now I did use this ID number when I made my reservation about two months ago. What will happen? I don't see much being take off for this id number. I am still paying the concession Fee ... is that what it was supposed to remove? What should I do? Should I rebook? Right now I have a rate of 274.62 with this code. Playing with some other codes, the lowest I got was 292.something ... but I do want an additional driver (my dh), so I am wondering if I should just get the Emerald Reserve program so we don't pay for the add'l driver no matter who ... but I leave in 3 weeks and that doesn't leave time for me to get a card, so I dont' know if I can do that.

Anyone know ? :confused3

p.s. Now is when I start stressing about "little" things ... I have a basement being finished, report cards to write, a birthday party to throw, numerous kids activities to run to ... I just get a tad uptight getting all of my disney plans ready ... dh just doesn't understand :(

Ok .. I did a search then and realized someone else posted this too ... sorry about that  But I'd still love any advice ... should I rebook? What will happen? What extras will they charge me?

OK ... it is me again!!! (I told you I obsess over these things!!)

So anyways ... I did sign up for Emerald Reserve ... used the link on mousesavers.com so it didn't cost me anything. I then went in to make a reservation and tried many different contract id #s (walmart ones, and an old one that I used last year). With those my price was coming out at $286, which was only $14 more than my original booking with that code above. So I took out all contract codes and I got a CHEAPER rate than I had with a code!!! :thumbsup2 Why is that??? Anyways ... doesn't matter ... I booked it at $262.09!! Better than the first time around!

So NOW my question is this ... it says on the reservation sheet that I go to the counter in terminals A & B ... I thought I skipped that with using Emerald Reserve??? Should I call them? I am getting really confused here!!!

Did you log in using your Emerald Aisle member number? If not, then you may have to go to the counter. My reservation says Emerald Aisle on it. You can try calling and asking them to note it on your reservation.

In the past I have used several different codes (other than Emerald Aisle) and was told that I would have to pay the fee for the extra driver since I did not use the Emerald Aisle Code. I didnt really need a second driver, so I did not worry about it. I was only told that once, so I dont even know if it is true.

Anyone else been told this?

DH does not have to pay a surchage as an additional driver (if he lives in the same household as you).

I've had a reservation for this coming week for months now, and I used the "evil" code to book it back then through Emerald Aisle. :goodvibes

I saw the notice in Mousesavers as well, so I went back on National's web site and took another look at my reservation. They added a grand total of $14 in fees back on. I can live with that! (Keep in mind I'm the only driver, so I can't speak to whether there's addition charges for additional drivers.)

I printed up the new reservation, and I'll bring that with me when I pick up the car on Tuesday. I haven't bothered to make a new reservation....the rates are much higher, and it certainly seems like National has, through their updated reservation, told me what to expect.

Hope this helps!

Off to WDW in 44 hours as I type this!!!

I didn't see the mention in Mousesavers, but I was just coming to the boards to post this question. We are leaving next week, so today I was getting itineraries printed and when I compared the details of my rental now to the confirmation I printed out last November, I noticed the concession fee added an additional $12 to the ressie. I was wondering what was up, so figured I'd look here to get the answer and I did! :thumbsup2

just wanted to add that I rebooked also, and got the best rate for May -- same at Priceless code rate I had had -- by NOT using any contract id (I did use WWEB and a $15 off coupon). $400 for a minivan for 11 days.

We just returned 2/18 after a week at WDW. I, too, had reserved using the Priceless code way back in October. I had reserved a full size using Emerald Reserve (needed to have a full size and not an intermediate) at a rate of $180.66. When I saw the posting on Mousesavers I freaked! I called National and they told me my rate would be $200.06. And that's just what it was when I returned the car Saturday. I certainly wasn't going to fight over $20!! Good luck!!
