National Code- 8572967

SHELLY-F-OHIO, Thanks for the codes got a G6 for $27 a day, truly appreciate the info.

We got in late last night. No problrms using the 67 code. There were not many vehicles last night. There were no standard SUV'S. So we got a fullsize 2008 Enclave suv, leather and all 8 seater. We got a sweet deal. 16 days for $382. I found the previous persons receipts in the glovebox. They paid $852 for the exact same amount of time. Got to love the dis for finding the codes. We are off to the last day of the Stars Wars Weekends. I will say hi to Mickey for you all.

Good to know!

Glad to hear everything went well!

Thanks for letting us know.

I hope the code will still be good in April;)

There is a tread about this code on the Transportation Board. Makes me second guess using this code.

I used 'the codes' twice in the States w/ Emerald Aisle, no problems. What I would love to know is, where do we find these great deals locally? We want to do a domestic rental but where are 'our' magic codes? Please share if you know!

I keep reading on this post about people using their Emerald Club membership, can anyone tell me what this is?

Thanks :thumbsup2

Emerald Club is the loyalty program for National Car. There is a fee to join but there are many different methods of receiving a free membership.

There is a link through Mousesavers.com that will provide a free membership.

Maybe it's just too early for good discounts for Dec, but we usually only pay about 200. for 9 days, and even with all of these codes and discounts the quote is $278 for a compact!

I guess I will just have to wait to see what kind of deal comes out in the fall.

Why are you concerned?

The insurance issue....if you are not entitled to use this discount the insurance that is included will not apply & your own insurance may have issues because you took the rental companies insurance....kind of a catch 22...IF you were to have a accident.

My quote with the 67 code was $191.00 taxes included for a midsize.(Emerald Aisle) I may wait & see if I can book one of the last minute specials with the $30 coupon and see where that ends up.

I have another rental booked with Dollar for a SUV for $259.00 taxes in without insurance so I just may use that.

Looks like the code has been pulled...

I wonder if our reservations are still good?
Mine isn't until April....

Man, it was such a good rate!
The transportation board says( after going through tons of posts!!)
that it IS a complimentary code, but others say not to use it , as the code was complimentary for Travel Solution clients( or employees?)
Others have posted no problems with using it.

Good luck to anyone who uses it, and let us know how things went!

I am covered with my credit card as far as insurance,

Ahh, but it turns out that you are NOT covered by credit card insurance. I went through my cc poilcy and I also called them ......... you are NOT covered unless you DECLINE insurance and with this Emerald number you CAN'T decline it because it's included.

Your only hope is your car insurance, but thats not perfect because it will be considered a claim against you.

First of all, I don't want to offend you or anyone, but I read on the other forum, the easiest for a code to be pulled is when everyone started calling in to double check and also posted the full code on a forum such as this. On the other forum, people only tried to refer it using the last 2 digits, PM is the key to pass on a good deal. For the sake of the people who had booked a resie using the code, perharps you might want to modify the header to omit the code. Just my 2 cents.

No offence taken.
This is a discussion forum, where we take other peoples knowledge, opinions and experiences , and use what we want. The idea of PM ing people for codes is not why I joined the DIS. It's an open forum. I have agreed and diagreed with many on here, but I have learned so much, especially on how to save money. I am just sharing what others were so gracious to share. :thumbsup2

The idea that National would pull a code because people are calling is pretty far fetched IMHO. If everyone called for a Costco or CAA code, would they pull it too? :confused3 . No, they would probably tell you you need to show your ID. If the code was pulled (or finished), then maybe it was used beyond expectation, or it was only for a certain period of time.... Who knows. If you read the posts on the transportation forum, no one was asked to show any Corporate ID , so it must have been a public code. At least that's what I think, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion, right.

Just an FYI....used my res with the 67 code at MCO today and ABSOLUTELY no problem or questions asked. I know some people were a bit worried since National has puylled some of the codes. But even though the codes I used are no lomger valid they did not question my rental at all!!! Juat wanted to let all the other nervous renters out there know.

Another code that I came accross that gives a good rate, without insurance included, is 5063773. Not as good as the 67 code but still a good rate.

Looks like the code has been pulled...

Yep it has ... tried it today and got the message "The entered Corporate ID, Association ID, or Contract ID is invalid"

Apparently that code is from PRT Travel
